I don’t own this anymore. But now I understand Hilux culture a little more! HILUX SOCIETY 4X4 🔥 Türkiye ordered several hundred of these in the 90s. They’ve had over 1000 different drivers inside the Forestry Commission of Türkiye. Mine had 800,000km and a rebuilt engine. One day it caught fire on the ferry dock before I could board. We filled the cab with dry fire extinguisher powder. Guess what? It started up and drove again—caught on fire again while driving—-but the myth remains. Nothing can kill them. We finally moved away and I sold it back to the guy (Murat) who sold it to me originally. The subculture is real. So is the hardiness.

Did this yesterday. So this thought scares me in a good way. If I didn’t have hands, who would I be? This bothers me about as much as the inability to do the work I had planned out. I’m glad to know I’m more than my product. A little bothered that it takes THIS to think about it!!!

In Newari culture of Nepal, this stone is placed in front of each house. A certain fruit smeared on the stone signifies birth. Another fruit signifies death. The community could know either one by passing by in front. Do we have anything like this that allows others to mourn with us or rejoice with us? Maybe 100 years ago?
