🍂 Fall is PRIME gardening time here in Central Texas! 🌱 Cooler temperatures make it the perfect time to plant, improve your landscape, and get your garden ready for the seasons ahead.

The Bell County Master Gardener Association’s fall seminar series is wrapping up, but there’s still time to join! These classes are FREE and open to the public. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, there’s always something new to learn.

🌿 Here are two upcoming seminars in Belton:

📅 October 17 | 9 AM
💧 Water-Wise Gardening in Action
Presented by Betty Nejetek, Charlotte Nunnery, and Cynthia Beck at the Bell County Extension Office Learning Center.

📅 October 22 | 6 PM
🌱 Propagation: Division, Root Cuttings & Bulb Chipping
Presented by Dave Slaughter at the Bell County Extension Office Classroom.

📣 Want to learn more about upcoming gardening classes and events? Head over to the Bell County Master Gardener Association page to see what’s coming up! They offer great opportunities to learn, connect with fellow gardeners, and grow your gardening knowledge.

And if you’ve never visited the SMART Museum in Nolanville, put it on your list! It’s a pretty cool place, complete with an armadillo sculpture made out of recycled tires. Currently the museum is open only during scheduled community programs. Be sure to check out their website.

Don’t let this prime gardening season pass you by. Get out there, learn something new, and make the most of fall in your Texas garden! 🌿

What a difference 3 years makes! 🌿
A garden is never really finished. There’s always something to plant, something to tweak, and something new to learn. But sometimes, we get so caught up in what we want the garden to become that we forget to appreciate how far it’s come.
Looking back at this space three years ago and comparing it to today is a good reminder that progress happens one plant at a time. 🌱
Gardens take time. They grow and change right along with us. And sometimes the best thing we can do is pause, look back, and appreciate what we’ve accomplished instead of focusing on what’s left to do.
Your garden doesn’t have to be finished to be worth celebrating. 💚

🌱💙 Want bluebonnets next spring? Now is the time to sow them! (I’ll link my favorite place to purchase seeds in the comments)

Fall is the perfect time to plant Texas bluebonnet seeds. They need time over the cooler months to develop strong roots before putting on their spectacular spring show. 💙

A few tips:
🌱 Sow directly where you want them to grow
☀️ Choose a sunny spot with well-drained soil
🌱 Press the seeds into the soil rather than burying them deeply
💧 Keep the area lightly moist while they’re getting established
🍂 Then…be patient! Nature does the rest.

And if you’re in Central Texas, don’t be afraid to let those bluebonnets naturalize. The goal isn’t a perfectly manicured garden, it’s a garden that gets better every year. 🌿

Plant them this fall, and future-you will thank you come spring! 💙

🌱 It’s time to start planting your Texas fall garden!

If you’re in Central Texas, fall is one of my favorite times to get plants in the ground. Cooler temperatures mean less stress on new plants and there are SO many beautiful options that can thrive through our Texas seasons.

I made this video(link in comments)last year with some of my favorite plants to get started in fall, and the advice still holds up. 🌿

If you’re planning a fall planting project, save this one and take a look before you head to the nursery!
