Awarded for the Third Year in a Row! 🏆

Husker Horticulture has been named 2026 Nextdoor Fave for the lawn and landscaping category in Omaha.

What started as a side hustle has grown into a full-time team of over half a dozen people. We’re thankful for everyone who has trusted us with their property, recommended us, or supported us along the way.

As we grow, we’re continuing to push our landscape design and horticultural work - bringing together thoughtful design, plants, and craftsmanship to create and maintain outdoor spaces. We’ve pushed ourselves hard the last year, to see this scale is a dream come true.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you… We see & truly appreciate everybody who supports. We’re excited to keep growing with you. ~Colton & Alex 🌱

What was previously a dangerous slope is now covered in timeless natural stone. Plants are settling in, and a soft lighting glow after sundown.

Over 240 linear feet of underground drainage below - giving the rain a way out, and the landscape room to grow.

Simple planting design with a more architectural feel.

Clean lines and a limited plant palette keep this new construction home minimalistic without feeling empty.

From overlooked to intentional.

Two weeks ago, Copper Dollar Ranch reached out seeking assistance designing & installing a few areas of the property.

A full design-build transformation with over 50,000 lbs of stone & boulders, 250+ plants, and a landscape built to feel like it belongs here.

Designed, rendered, and installed by Husker Horticulture. Some projects take months to come together, this one took only five days in total even battling lots of rain. This one moved fast, and the result speaks for itself.

Cool Fact: The bed edging “rust” is actually a protective patina; this specialized steel slowly, naturally weathers into a rich, earthy finish while protecting the metal underneath.

Thankful for every client who shares their experience. Enhancing spaces is at the heart of what we do.

Like many of our projects, another full transformation. We rebuilt a failing retaining wall, removed an old raised tree bed and stump, and worked with our close friends at Divino Tree Services to remove a mature ash in the backyard.

From there, we reshaped the space with a new tree, a line of ornamental grasses for privacy, and a new mulch bed around the shallow maple roots... eliminating the need to mow where grass never really belonged.

We also corrected drainage, refreshed the paver patio with new polymeric sand, and finished the landscape with new plantings.

A lot of moving pieces, but the goal was simple: make the space work better, look better, and feel like it belonged there.

Brick edging with crisp 90° miters... clean geometry softened by the landscape around it. Simple detail, carefully done.
