Most of the old stain was already gone, but i felt better in stripping the remaining.
The playhouse just needed Revive to clean the wood and prepare it for stain.

I've been out of pocket for a couple days getting some much needed brotherhood time with other firefighters from across the country and refining my skillset of playing bagpipes in remembrance of the fallen.
After the day sessions are over, we rally and hit the streets for a pub crawl. This video is a clip of some of the world class instructors who came to teach a bunch of firemen how to wrangle a set of pipes and drums.

I built this fence a few years ago with the customer requesting the gap at the bottom for easier yard maintenance. They're anticipating a new dog soon and had me come back to install a skirting to fill in the gap.
While more expensive, Trex was chosen instead of wood. Ground contact and less maintenance will provide more longevity and offset the cost in the long term.

Like nearly everything else the rising fuel prices are affecting how small businesses operate.
After careful consideration and weighing many options, i have decided to implement a $75 estimate fee for any consultation or estimate requiring me to visit the location.
If awarded the project, the fee would apply toward the balance of the project.
This will not apply for smaller projects where a ballpark estimate can be provided based on a telephone conversation or a few pictures via messenger. (Sheetrock patch, change door hardware, etc)
This decision does not come lightly as many customers are accustomed to free estimates provided by most service based companies. Fuel and maintenance costs along with a few people who have required significant amounts of my time only to abandon the project; it's just not sustainable as a one-man operation.

Been chipping away at this project in the little bit of downtime I've had on the rare occasion that i get home before my family and get the other household chores done. An hour here and there is finally showing progress. My daughters are super excited when they get home and see me hanging a piece of siding or cutting a rafter. Hopefully I'll have the exterior finished before it turns cold.

Finished early the other day and stopped to help my buddy Joe at Val-Trax excavating move some dirt while he was digging a pond. I hadn't been on a skidsteer in a while. They're a lot of fun!
