Eisenmann Architecture is a Bay Area and Lake Tahoe regional firm, committed to improving the quality of our clients' lives through thoughtful design solutions. We value the personal connection that is created while guiding clients through the complex architectural process and working collaboratively to develop a unique design language customized to their story. Using an exploratory and holistic approach, the Eisenmann team focuses its expertise on fulfilling our clients’ aspirations. Stacy Eisenmann received her Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech's College of Architecture and Urban Studies, a program based on Bauhaus principals. After completing her own award-winning home in 2005, Stacy launched Eisenmann Architecture with the commitment to help others successfully navigate the process of changing the way they live. Her approach guides clients through the design as partners resulting in architectural languages that can vary significantly between projects. Stacy has served her community as a member of Albany's Planning and Zoning commission, as a member of the American Institute of Architects, and as a contributor to periodicals and trade journals. She lives with her filmmaker husband, two lively daughters, and an equally energized labrador retriever.

A garden designed as an extension of the home. 🌿

For this Berkeley project, we collaborated with to create outdoor spaces that feel just as considered and livable as the interiors. Places to gather, sit by the fire, listen to the water, or simply enjoy a quiet corner of the garden.

We love how the landscape brings another layer to the architecture and creates so many different ways to enjoy the outdoors.

This is what most of the job looks like. In 2005, Stacy reimagined her own home, friends noticed, and projects followed. Twenty years later, the studio she and Aska lead is intentionally sized so everyone stays close to the work. The details still get the same attention they always did.

The primary bath in our Berkeley Craftsman feels like a retreat, but still very much part of the home.

Warm wood, natural stone, and soft light bring a sense of calm to the space, with subtle Japanese influence woven throughout. It’s a room that feels considered without feeling precious — designed for a family who chose to make this their forever home.

When you’re designing for multiple generations, you design for everyone. Young children, gathering space, beautiful views, and a garden that delights at every turn. A Berkeley renovation designed in collaboration with , where the house and landscape were always part of the same idea.

A little color goes a long way. In the Albany Modern Split-Level, soft blue cabinetry brings a playful note to an otherwise restrained kitchen. Warm wood, brass details, and crisp white surfaces keep the palette grounded, while open shelving and integrated storage make every inch work harder.

Bright, functional, and not afraid of a little personality. 🩵

Meet Chris. He trained as an architect at MIT, and chose to spend his career making sure other architects can do their best work. As Operations Director at Eisenmann Architecture, he builds the systems, rhythms, and structures that let a studio operate with clarity and focus. His conviction is simple: great design depends on a well-run practice. Twenty years of experience suggest he’s right.

October has good timing. A Berkeley backyard made for mornings like this.

The brief was simple: more light. Skylights run the length of the upstairs hallway, and the cable stair keeps the sightlines open all the way down. Sometimes the best design decisions are the ones that just get out of the way.

Good millwork has a way of solving problems quietly. At Northbrae Residence, a full-height custom oak cabinet makes the television feel like a considered part of the room rather than an afterthought. The rest of the living space follows suit: warm, low, and personal, with a woven wall sculpture that stops you mid-step. A home shaped around how this family actually lives.

Every studio needs a Welcome Director, a Chief Morale Officer, and a Snack Supervisor. Meet Olive, Daisy, and Bubby. Officially part of the team. Unofficially running the place.
