Early Bird Is Over. Your Chance to Learn From Gladys Isn't.

The $15 early-bird price closed!. Thank you to everyone who jumped on it. Your seats are confirmed.

If you didn't make it in time, you can still join us. Registration is now $30, which covers all of your wreath-making materials.

Here's where seats stand right now:

• Saturday, November 14 | LEAD Danbury | [14] of 20 seats left
• Saturday, November 21 | Arce Gardens, Bethel | [4] of 20 seats left

We're keeping it at 20 people per class so everyone gets real, hands-on time with Gladys. We won't be adding seats.

And remember why this one matters: Gladys hasn't taught her wreath methods in 25 years. You'll walk out with a finished wreath for your door and the know-how to make your own at home for every holiday after this one.

Both classes run 10:00–11:30 AM and include a hot chocolate station, holiday music, giveaways and games, in partnership with Puzzles and LEAD.

Pick the date that works for your family before it fills.

The $15 Price Ends Tomorrow at Midnight

Quick reminder: the early-bird price for Gladys Arce's Holiday Wreath Making Class ends Sunday, October 18 at 11:59 PM.

Starting Monday, the same seat costs $30. Same class, same materials, double the price.

If you missed our first email: for the first time in 25 years, Gladys is teaching the wreath techniques she's known for. You'll build and decorate your own wreath with her guidance, then take the skill home to use every season after.

- November 14 | 10:00–11:30 AM | LEAD Danbury, 358 Main Street
- November 21 | 10:00–11:30 AM | Arce Gardens, Bethel

The price isn't the only thing running out. **Each class holds just 20 people.** Seats are going, and once a class hits 20, registration for that date closes.

We're partnering with Puzzles and LEAD to make this a real community morning, with a hot chocolate station, holiday music, giveaways and games for the whole family.

If you've been meaning to sign up, this is the weekend to do it. Grab your seat now while it's $15.

For the First Time in 25 Years, Gladys Arce Is Teaching Her Wreaths

Every holiday season, someone asks us the same question: "How does Gladys make her wreaths look like that?"

For 25 years, she's never taught it. This November, she will.

Gladys Arce is leading a hands-on Holiday Wreath Making Class. You'll make, decorate and personalize your own wreath from start to finish. Then you'll leave knowing how to do it again at home, every year, on your own kitchen table.

We're hosting two classes with our partners at Puzzles and LEAD (Leaders for Educational Advocacy and Diversity):

- Saturday, November 14 | 10:00–11:30 AM | LEAD Danbury, 358 Main Street, Danbury
- Saturday, November 21 | 10:00–11:30 AM | Arce Gardens, 100 Putnam Park Rd, Bethel

Here's the catch: **each class is capped at 20 people.** That's 40 seats total. When a class fills, it's closed.

The early-bird price is $15 through Sunday, October 18. Starting October 19, the price goes to $30. Registration covers your wreath-making materials.

This is a family morning, too: a hot chocolate station, holiday music, giveaways and games. Bring the kids and make it a tradition.

If you've ever wanted to learn this from Gladys herself, this is the year. Pick your date and lock in the $15 price before Sunday.

2. Make a Donation for 15 (by the 18th) or 30 after

Fall Just Showed Up at Arce Gardens

There's a smell in the air this time of year. Nothing says it's here like a porch full of mums.

Ours arrived, and they're ready to go home with you today.

We've got 4.5" mums for filling in window boxes, lining a walkway, or grabbing a few colors to mix and match.. For anyone who wants that full, show-stopping look right out of the gate, our 8" mums are exactly that. Big, bold, already-blooming color you can drop straight into a pot or bed.

We also brought in ornamental cabbage and kale in 4.5" pots. Perfect for tucking around your mums for texture, or running along a front step on their own.

Whether you're doing a full porch refresh, prepping planters for a client, or want a couple pots to make the front door feel like fall, now's the time. Stock moves fast this time of year — mums especially don't sit around long once the weather turns.

Stop by Arce Gardens this week and grab yours while the color's at its best.

Not sure what combo works for your space? Our team's happy to help you pick colors and sizes that'll actually hold up through the season.

We know plant shopping can feel overwhelming.

There are a hundred options. Some are full sun. Some need shade. Some are low maintenance. Some need more attention. And without knowing your specific yard, soil, and situation — it's easy to bring home the wrong thing.

That's why we're inviting you to come in this weekend and just talk to us.

Tell us where the space is. How much sun it gets. What you've tried before. What's worked and what hasn't. Whether you want something that blooms every year or something that fills in fast this season.

**We'll point you straight to what will actually work for your yard — not just what looks good in the lot.**

Whether you're filling a sunny border, shading a patio, or just trying to replace something that didn't make it through the heat — we've got options and we'll help you choose.

Get Directions & Hours -Come see us at 100 Putnam Park Rd in Bethel. We'll take care of the rest.

This Summer Is Testing Every Plant in Connecticut

We've been seeing the same thing over and over — plants that should be thriving are struggling.

**The #1 watering mistake we're seeing this summer: watering too shallow, too often.**

The fix is simple: water less frequently, but water deeply.

Give your plants a long, slow soak 1–2 times per week. Let the water reach 6–8 inches down. Then let the soil breathe before you water again. This trains roots to grow downward — where soil temperature is cooler and moisture holds longer.

Mistakes we're catching in CT gardens this summer:

- Watering in the afternoon heat (evaporation takes most of it before roots can use it)
- Wetting the leaves instead of the base (invites fungal disease in humid weather)
- Using the same schedule for every plant regardless of sun exposure or soil type
- Skipping mulch — which can cut your watering needs almost in half by holding moisture in

If your plants are struggling and you're not sure why, it may not be the watering at all. It could be the wrong plant for the spot, a drainage issue, or soil that needs amending.
