Our team is heading to IACP 2026! The International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Conference and Exposition, October 24-27 at the Orange County Convention Center.

Law enforcement facilities are not the typical municipal building: they require specialized equipment, rigorous standards, resilience, and various programs. These spaces need to support secure operations, officer wellness, evidence handling, and public relations.

Stop by Booth #615 while the exhibit hall is open to meet one of our team members. If your agency is considering a new headquarters, a precinct renovation, or a combined public safety building, we'd welcome the chance to talk through what that project could look like and how to plan for it.

Police chiefs and agency leaders, start a conversation with us to hear how our decades of experience can help set up the groundwork for planning your next law enforcement building project. We look forward to seeing you in Orlando.

We're at the Midwest Fire Rescue Expo today!

Whether your department is starting to outgrow its current station or already working through a renovation or new build, stop by our booth to talk through what's next. We'll have a team member on hand to share recent public safety project experience, and to answer questions about planning a facility that supports your crew for decades.

Firefighters and fire chiefs, take advantage of this opportunity to shape how your fire station is designed and managed by talking to us at the expo. We’ll see you there.

Fire Prevention Week runs from October 4th through the 10th, and our local Michigan fire departments are ready to bring their expertise directly to their communities. This week is focused on teaching fire safety tips and techniques to residents of all ages.

Much of this education happens at the fire station itself, which is why we design fire stations with their community outreach programs in mind. Public-facing areas and ample outdoor space and parking welcome guests in without disrupting daily operations.

Thank you to all our firefighters this week for volunteering your time to educate us, one resident at a time.

Redstone was honored to take some time to support our local firefighting community with Neighbors United's Walk for the Red at our recently completed project and the newly renovated Auburn Hills, MI Fire Station #1.

Our very own Natalie Wilson met with members of the City of Auburn Hills fire department and several of the Walk for the Red’s participants on September 10th, including Neighbors United’s founder, Joe Warne. In 2019, Joe Warne started the 140-mile Walk for the Red with a few firefighter friends and a passion for helping fellow firefighters battling occupational cancer. This year, over 60 people joined in on this incredible journey across the state of Michigan to raise money and awareness.

We are privileged as a Public Safety specialized firm to be part of saving firefighter lives through design and beyond. We look forward to continuing to partner with such an amazing cause.

McCarthy & Smith and Redstone are hard at work at White Lake Township’s new Public Safety Building. Nearly all of the exterior of the building has been completed, and interior is starting to take shape. Finishes, casework, and equipment are all coming together to bring Redstone’s design to life.

Follow along for more updates as we get closer to the finish line.

Special thanks to our talented videographer, Brent Kowalske, for showcasing our building’s progress. eyes

This month is National Preparedness Month, which is dedicated to preparing people for natural disasters and emergencies. For our firefighters, police officers, and paramedics, this preparation isn’t only one month in the year. They live it every shift all year long, risking their lives to protect ours.

At Redstone, our job is to design the stations, precincts, and command centers that keep our first responders ready for anything. These spaces are built for quick response times, long working hours, and mental and physical recovery. Well-designed public safety architecture may not take all weight off first responders’ shoulders, but it does help them to better manage the work load and stress.

Happy National Police Woman Day!

Women in law enforcement? We LOVE to see it.

Over the past century, the number of female police officers rose from being few and far between to now 10% of all law enforcement in the United States.

Take some time today to celebrate and thank the incredible women who put it all on the line to keep us safe!

Redstone Architects is proud to cheer on our local firefighters walking alongside Neighbors United at this year’s Walk for the Red. In our home state of Michigan, firefighters will embark on a 140-mile walk from September 10th through the 13th, stopping at many fire stations along the way. This event supports firefighters battling occupational cancer: the leading cause of death in the fire service.

As a firm that has spent the past 30+ years alongside firefighters to design their home away from home, it’s personal. In support of our local fire departments and clients, we’ll be at our recently completed project and the newly renovated Auburn Hills Fire Station #1 on September 10th.

Come to your community’s local fire station to cheer on the men and women walking for their firefighting families and/or donate to Neighbors United.
