when the original home, both small and awkward in layout, no longer worked for the family, we decided to use the original first floor footprint to reminage it into a modern and open house with presence and unique character.
a brick arch greets you at the front door and the foyer is opened to the newly built second level giving views into all areas of the home. the first floor showcases a large kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and a walk-in butlers pantry that opens up to a large family room. french doors lead onto a covered patio, with outdoor dining and living spaces. a generous laundry and mudroom is conveniently located right off the garage as well as a half bath to service the first floor.
upstairs, a second story was added to provide space and separation for the newly added bedrooms. the new primary suite has a large bathroom with modern fixtures and finishes, with a modern chandelier as the focal point of the room. other features include a large walk in shower, soaking bathtub, a double vanity as well as a walk-in closet. brushed marble surrounds the shower and is laid in a versailles pattern on the floor to create texture and movement in the spaces.
it’s an incredible home that proves that sometimes starting anew is a great decision.
