Tilly didn’t ask permission. She just moved in and took over. 🐷

POV: You accidentally got the cutest little pig 🐷

There’s something about tiny hooves, little snorts, and curious noses that can melt even the hardest hearts.

There’s nothing like the love between a girl & her Collie.
Glad I get to share my love of Rosey with my daughter.
Rosey is loyal, intelligent, hardworking on the homestead, & the best family dog anyone could ask for.

Happy World Collie Day!!

The world says “hurry”. But the garden reminds me to slow down.

Another outbreak…honestly, it just reminds me why we’re putting so much effort into growing our own food, raising our own animals, cooking from scratch, preserving our food, and putting the hard work in to do more for ourselves.

I’ll be the first to say we’re definitely not trying to be perfect, but every little step toward self sufficiency gives me a little more peace of mind about what I use in my home and what feeds my animals & family.
I don’t share this thought because I’m afraid or to instill fear.
It just makes me stop and think about how much we all depend on a handful of large companies to feed our families.

Will we ever grow or raise 100% of our food? Maybe someday, maybe not. But every tomato from our garden, seed saved, every mason jar we water bath or pressure can, herb we dehydrate, fruit we forage or grow ourselves, every egg from our chickens, or meat from our own livestock, & every meal we can provide ourselves is one less thing we have to depend on someone else for.

Tilly is a nosey little pig but she has good intentions. 🐷
