I already know I’m going to get some crap for this one. 😂

First — ZERO judgment if you waited in the line. And honestly, 👏👏👏 to 7 Brew because getting people to wait TWO HOURS and buy two drinks for a Neh Doh is some seriously impressive marketing.

But as a professional organizer, I am FASCINATED by this.

We spend so much time helping people get stuff OUT of their homes that I’m always interested in what makes us decide something is worth bringing IN.

Was it because your kids really wanted it?
Because it was limited edition?
Because everyone else was getting one?
Because you love Needoh?
Was the whole thing just a fun experience?

I genuinely want to know: if you waited in the line, what made a Needoh worth two hours to you?

And before you come for me… remember, I’m the person who will eventually help you find it under the couch. 😂

Also, 7 Brew marketing team: well played. 👏

Here's the whole offer, plainly.

20% off photo organizing, September only. We come pick up your boxes. You fill out a short form first — names, dates, events, who's who — so we're not guessing. Then everything gets sorted, culled, labeled, and scanned at our place. Not your kitchen table. We bring it back to you organized and digitized.

The scanner alone runs $600 to $1,000 to buy. You don't need to own one. You need this done once, correctly.

Comment PHOTOS and I'll send you everything.

That's me. Red Sox, 1990-something, wearing a super thick baseball jersey.

This photo survived. A lot of them don't, and it's usually not one dramatic event — it's four boring things happening slowly in a closet. Swipe for what they are and what to do instead.

Then go look at where your boxes actually live. If the answer is "the attic" or "the garage," you already know.

20% off photo organizing this month. Comment PHOTOS.

BEFORE: entire dining room table. AFTER: one crate.

This is what photo organizing actually looks like. Not prettier boxes — fewer of them. We sorted, culled the duplicates and the blurry ones and the 14 near-identical shots of the same Christmas tree, labeled what mattered, and scanned it all.

She got her table back. And she can actually find things now.

Think about it — you learned to wipe a counter, run a vacuum, fold a towel. Nobody ever sat you down and explained how to decide what comes into your house, what leaves, or where the rest of it lives. So you got very good at cleaning around your things and never got taught the actual skill.

And now you’re doing the same thing with your kids. Telling them to clean their room, which to them means shoving it all somewhere you can’t see it. Because that’s what we do too, just with nicer bins.

The skill is deciding. It’s not tidiness, it’s not discipline, it’s not a personality type you either have or don’t. It’s a thing you can learn at 8 or 38.

Comment YES and I’ll send you the guide.

Most of what's in your house can be replaced. Your photos can't.

I say this to clients who feel guilty about spending money on organizing. You've got a whole house of stuff you could re-buy tomorrow if you had to. And then you've got four boxes in the closet that are genuinely irreplaceable, sitting in a spot with no climate control, degrading a little every year.

That's the part I'd start with.

September is Save Your Photos Month. 20% off photo organizing all month. Comment PHOTOS.

Photos are the one thing in your house that can't be replaced. 📦

Everything else? Replaceable. The furniture, the dishes, the boxes of stuff in the garage. But that box of prints in your closet — the loose ones, the albums, the drugstore envelopes with the negatives still inside — there's exactly one copy of those.

September is Save Your Photos Month, so I wrote about the project everyone means to do and nobody actually gets to. Including the part where I talk you out of buying a $700 scanner.

Here's the short version of what it looks like to work with us: we pick up your boxes, you fill out a form telling us who's who, and we do the rest at our place. Your dining room stays a dining room.

And all September, photo organizing is 20% off. 💛

You know the box. Loose prints, albums with sticky pages that stopped being sticky in 2003, and a drugstore envelope with the negatives still in it. September is Save Your Photos Month — here's what it actually looks like to hand that box off to us.
