November has a way of stripping everything back, doesn’t it?
Lately life has felt heavy. Work. Parenting. My own head. And when it’s heavy like that, everything feels heavier.
12 years ago today I lost my dad. Most days I carry him quietly. I don’t linger there too long because it makes me ache. But some days, like today, the ache is just there. No hiding it.
The trees are bare. The garden is put to bed. Everything is showing its bones. Maybe that’s why grief already feels closer this time of year. And today especially…
If you’re holding a quiet, heavy thing today too — we don’t have to carry it alone. I’m holding mine alongside yours.
I miss you, Dad.
