Wondering what to plant this weekend? 🌱

Swipe to find your growing zone and see what you can start indoors, direct sow, or transplant now.

Save this guide for the weekend—and tell me your zone in the comments! I’ll be back every Thursday with a new planting list.

Planting dates are general guidelines. Always adjust for your local weather and frost dates.

Mulch is one of the best investments you can make in your garden—and it doesn’t have to cost anything. 🌱
It conserves moisture, suppresses weeds, moderates soil temperature, and gradually improves the soil. Use fallen leaves, dried grass clippings, pine needles, chipped branches, or plain cardboard from around your home.
Use what you have, protect your soil, and let nature do the rest.

Think it’s too late to plant zucchini? 🌱

Depending on where you live in Texas, you may still have time for one more harvest.

Fast-growing zucchini varieties can begin producing in approximately 45–50 days—but zucchini cannot tolerate frost. Your final planting date depends on your area’s average first fall frost.

Here’s the quick answer:

• November 1 frost: It is probably too late.
• November 16 frost: Plant immediately.
• December 1 frost: You still have time.
• December 16 frost: You have plenty of time.
• Lower Gulf Coast: Plant as the worst summer heat begins to ease.

Choose the fastest variety you can find, direct sow the seeds, and keep the soil consistently moist during germination.

Save this post, find your frost window, and see whether you can squeeze in one more zucchini harvest this fall.

Grow more. Make more. Buy less.
