Comment ARTIST for the link that shares 7 artists we (and anyone) can buy from directly, and more on what artists can do to connect with the right advisors.

*Note: these artists are NOT represented by galleries. Don’t circumvent a gallery to access an artist (for so many reasons. More on that later.)

One parent from our window painting event said: “this is my favorite day of the year. It’s just pure fun.”

For the link to our post about a relevant conversation (separate from our event) and 7 professional artists with a perfectly charming child-like style, comment YES.
We’ll send the link to your DMs.

Thanks to the Cobble Hill, Brooklyn association and everyone who makes this day a success. ❤️🎃

If you want what you want with no surprises, just get some AI art and call it a day. The joy of art made my people is that it DOESN’T mirror what’s in your head. It’s the product of choices you wouldn’t have thought to make, AND it resonates with you. That’s what makes it feel special. This is the art that fosters a sense of connection, self discovery, and long term interest.

Artists & others are tagged. Thoughts welcome. 👇

Resist the urge to think about what you think you want, what you like, and what you don’t. Instead, stay open to possibilities. The art that will interest you, and hold your attention long term, is often so different from what you expect. 🩷

Art advisors see a ton of art. And, when you see a ton, the new ones that we write home about need to be different from everything in your mental art library—the composition, brushstroke, story, palette, materials, process etc. feels new and special.

Here’s a sample of what Maddie and Kristen saw at Art Basel Paris last week that was new to all of us and stood out. 🩷

We are so floored about Art Basel Paris closing its doors two days early. We also know about great galleries spending $300k on a fair and not selling anything, or spending $70k on shipping ALONE, hoping it pays off. The art fair bets are real.

This fair closure is complicated, and clearly it was a hard decision for Art Basel. We hope this post sheds light on the impact this closure has and hope everyone in Paris stays safe.

Relatedly, our post on gallery discounts that outlines what to know and what to expect. Comment LINK and we’ll send it over.

It’s always so interesting to see the pieces that our team writes home about. So many of them are different from what each of us would have leaned into on our own, and when we hear the explanations, with our colleagues’ conviction and interest, their interest becomes contagious.

Later this we’re sharing more Frieze favorites from other advisors, and everything Kristen Coy sees in Paris. It’s a busy week. ✈️ 🩷

So much art on Instagram can look really good, and get a lot of likes. And, a lot of those pics are AI generated. Comment YES for the link on exactly how we, as art advisors, think about IG famous artists vs quality fine art.
