How do you make space in a Brooklyn house that doesn’t have any?

You find the space that’s already there. This was dead wall under the stairs. Now it holds strollers, suitcases, and everything that used to sit in the hallway.

Every old house has a few of these. Most people never open them up.

The average home in this country is 44 years old. In Brooklyn, most of them are older than that.

That means wiring installed before anybody living there was born. Plumbing that’s been patched more times than anyone can count. Walls that have been opened and closed by five different people over fifty years, each one doing it a little differently.

None of that shows up until somebody opens it. And when we do, we find things nobody expected — k**b and tube wiring still live, pipes running where no plan says they should, floors that were leveled with whatever was lying around.

That’s not a problem with old houses. That’s just what an old house is.

The ones that hold up are the ones where somebody actually dealt with it instead of covering it back up.

Flooded basement? Call people who’ve done this before.

Water doesn’t just sit on the floor. It gets into the framing, behind the drywall, under the insulation, and into everything you were storing down there. By the time it looks dry, the problem is already inside the walls.

We handle the whole thing. Water removal, demo, mold remediation, full rebuild, and waterproofing so it doesn’t happen again next time.

Licensed and insured in New York and New Jersey.

A first look at a penthouse project we’ve been working on in the city.

We’ve been in this one a while and got the go-ahead to show it. Right now it’s the outdoor space coming together…

Full walkthrough coming soon!
