Freckled Flower Farm

Freckled Flower Farm A U-Pick dahlia farm in the heart of Hockinson, Washington, rooted in community and blooming with love.

Our family farm is home to four generations, ages 3 to 93, all working together to share the joy of flowers. Rooted in Brush Prairie since 1966, 1MB Family Farm is a four-generation family farm dedicated to growing beautiful, seasonal cut flowers—especially our specialty: dahlias. Alongside our blooms, we offer a rotating selection of farm-fresh goods including eggs, plant starts, and other seasonal harvests, all grown and gathered with care. We’re proud to support our neighbors by keeping business local, partnering with small businesses and giving back to area charities. Our farm isn’t just a place to grow — it’s a place where community and family thrive, with ages 2 to 92 working side by side to continue the legacy.

Happy Homecoming, Hockinson! Tonight is the dance, so we will have some smaller arrangements for purchase in the farm stand. As always, the u-cut field is open all day every day for as long as the flowers are good! (Last year we made it to Oct 23)

Have a great weekend!

A little bit of a sad update from the farm today.

We know how many of you have grown to love seeing our five Indian Runner ducks wandering around the farm and through the flowers, so we wanted to let you know what’s going on.

Unfortunately, we found one of our ducks deceased, two are injured, and two are currently missing. At this point, we truly don’t know what happened, and we don’t want to speculate. Right now we’re focused on taking care of the two that are hurt and utilizing the “farm-lesson” to educate the children on the circle of life and how to manage emotions around these situations.

These silly little ducks have become such a fun part of Freckled Flower Farm, and seeing how much all of you enjoy them has made them even more special to us.

We’re really hoping our two missing wanderers find their way home. We’ll keep everyone updated.

We got the blessing of playing in the flowers with the youngest member of our family, our great-niece!

There’s something refreshing about experiencing the world alongside little ones. Everything is new. Everything deserves a closer look. A flower isn’t just a flower, it’s something to explore!

COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE!

Happy Friday! I hope everyone is enjoying something and someone they love today, and spends some time in gratitude for living in a place that truly banded together 25 years ago today to pick each other up in the worst of times.

Weekend farm housekeeping: Our community is also hosting a COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE today and tomorrow, please continue up past the flowers for parking for the sale so that we can minimize congestion.

Next Saturday, September 19th, we’re opening the dahlia field for a small, private experience with just 10 guests.

You’ll handpick your own dahlias, learn to arrange them with Melissa Stewart of Sweet Bloom Farm, then sit down in the flowers for a watercolor workshop with local artist Kathryn Garcia-Stackpole.

And the best part? All of the proceeds will benefit The Happy Daffodil, helping them continue sharing repurposed flowers with people who could use a little beauty in their day.

I love that this was not staged at all! I never know what people are going to get out of their experience in the field and it’s fun to watch the girls grow up in it, not knowing what they will take out of it into their adult lives. She’s starting to take ownership in her own ways!
