The last carrots of the season!🥕

I wasn’t sure how carrots would do in our soil but I made sure to aerate it with a pitch fork so that the soil was loose enough for the carrots to grow long and straight. They turned out beautiful!

I’m quite slow with my cane and knee brace but I’m thankful to still get some of these little garden moments in before the season is over. I get to do a lot of watching while Chase does all the hard work❤️

It’s almost garlic planting time!

We are so excited (and a little nervous!) to plant our garlic for the first time on the farm. Did I mention we are growing a lot? We have been buying beautiful garlic from Liz these past couple of years and also thank you to Mike Heath for buying us some extra seed garlic this year too. Stay tuned!🧄🧄🧄

I can’t believe how big this amaranth got!! It’s a very cool plant but it took up a lot of prime real estate in the greenhouse. I’m not sure if I would grow it next season yet.

Do you grow amaranth? What would you do with these flowers?

September is always the month that I start to lose motivation in the garden. It’s also probably the most abundant month. We have lots of veggies, flowers and fruit giving it their all as we transition from summer to fall. It’s a time to just enjoy and not worry about weeds, pests or upcoming projects. At this point, it is what it is and the garden can manage itself. Grateful for this life that we live🧡🍎🍂🥕

Dare I say… it feels like fall today??

We picked apples, plums, dahlias, basil and tomatoes right before all the rain came. I also made sure to collect seeds! It smells so fresh and crisp outside.

Chase made grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner, a true rainy day classic🍅🧀🍁🍎🌧️🍃
