🌿🌙 A Little Moonlight Check-In!

Things have been a little quieter around here lately, but don't worry, we're still growing! 💚

Life has been keeping me busy outside of Moss & Moonlight, but the plants certainly haven't gotten the memo. 😂

Between repotting, watching new leaves unfurl, and getting ready for some upcoming fun, there's still plenty happening behind the scenes!

So today, I just wanted to check in with our little plant community. 🪴

🌿✨ EXCUSE ME WHILE I STARE AT THIS LEAF!
Our variegated Alocasia Frydek has been busy showing off, and this newest leaf did NOT disappoint! 😍
The contrast. The marbling. The velvety green. 🤌
One of my favorite things about variegated plants is that you never quite know what the next leaf will look like. It's like opening a little botanical present every time!

🌿🫣 PLANT PARENT CONFESSIONS!

Alright, plant people. It's time to spill the dirt! 😂

What's something you do as a plant parent that you're slightly ashamed to admit?

🪴 Buying new plants when you haven't repotted the last ones.

💧 Forgetting to water until someone's looking a little crispy.

🌱 Having a propagation that's been sitting in water for an embarrassingly long time.

👀 Sneaking another plant into the house and hoping nobody notices.

No judgment here! We're all a little guilty of something. 😂

🍂🌿 Fall means your houseplant routine may need to change!
Shorter days = less light, and for many houseplants, that means slower growth and less water use.
A few things to keep an eye on:
💧 Check before you water.
Stick your finger 1–2 inches into the soil. Still damp? Wait! Dry? It may be time for a drink. For deeper pots, a wooden chopstick works great too — damp soil will cling to or darken the wood.
☀️ Watch the light.
That perfect summer spot may not get nearly as much light now.
🪟 Watch for cold windows & drafts.
As temperatures drop, plants sitting against cold glass can become stressed.
🌱 Don't panic over slower growth.
Less growth during fall and winter can be completely normal.
And remember: your plants don't know what day of the week it is. 😂
Water based on what your plant and its soil are telling you — not because it's “watering day.”

🌙🌿 WE HIT 200!! 🌿🌙

Actually… y’all went ahead and made it 214 before we could even make the post. 😂🙌

200 people might not sound like a massive number in the world of social media, but for our little local plant business, it feels HUGE.
Every follow, comment, share, event visit, plant purchase, and person who tells a friend about Moss & Moonlight has helped us grow into what we are today. 🥹💚

And the timing makes this one even sweeter—we’re getting VERY close to celebrating our first full year in business! 🌙

There have been changes, learning curves, unexpected turns, a whole lot of plants 😂 and so many wonderful people we’ve gotten to meet along the way.

Thank you for being one of our first 200. Seriously. We’re so glad you’re here. 🪴
Now… onward to 300! 👀🌿
