“It’s 12 feet tall, why wouldn’t you want that in your yard?” Everyday I admire and praise Helianthus giganteus.
We don’t sell as many of these as we should. It blooms all summer long. Bees love it. It’s a magical presence in the garden. In my experience it doesn’t spread or take over if it’s given competition like some other sunflowers. You only live once… why not try a native sunflower? Don’t like this one? We also sell downy, Maximilian, western, willow leaf, prairie, stiff, showy and sawtooth sunflower. Planting one of these will ale a huge ecological impact on your community.
