🚨 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗺 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘁: 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻!
Medicare Open Enrollment runs October 15 – December 7, and scammers know it. Phone scams are at a peak this time of year, so here’s how to stay safe:
🛑 Medicare will not call you out of the blue to sell you a plan or ask for personal information.
🛑 Never give your Medicare number, Social Security number, or bank details to someone who contacts you unexpectedly.
🛑 Be wary of pressure. “Act now!” or “Your coverage is about to expire!” are classic scam tactics.
🛑 Don’t trust caller ID. Scammers can make a call look like it’s from Medicare or a local number.
🛑 If it sounds too good to be true, such as free gifts, free medical equipment, or “new” Medicare cards for a fee, it probably is.
✅ What to do instead: Hang up, and never feel bad about doing it. If you’re unsure about a call, come see us. As a family-owned local agency continuing the legacy of Larry Baker, we’re happy to help you sort out what’s real.
