Greencolumn Black Maple is always one of my fall favorites, and favorite trees in general.
This native cultivar of our central Iowa Sugar Maple is a great plant, one of the many trees we still have available this last week of our season! Open Thursday Friday Saturday 9am to 3pm, after Saturday Oct 24 we will move to selling trees and plants by appt only

Showers Leaving Friday Afternoon!
Thankfully we are all able to shower at home again, and as such, our temporary shower setup is leaving this afternoon.
There is still hot water and electricity there if you were planning a trip out this morning, but we will start draining around noon.
Thank you to Paige Williams for the fantastic public service-you've helped so many with this gift. Thanks to my staff (Jessica and Mona) for helping keep things clean and orderly, as well as helping people get to and from, and sometimes into, the showers. Thank you to Warren water for keeping us in water so we could help our neighbors. Thank you to Mike Killen Construction and his amazing hard working crew for the porta potty out here and for helping trackdown and repair the leak. Thank you to the City of Carlisle Staff, public works, electric dept, police and fire and everyone in the Emergency Operations Center for keeping everyone organized. Thanks to Mayor Carver for facing this crisis for us and getting us through, what a first year as mayor!
All of those people gave us so much of their time and energy last week, giving up their sleep, time with their families, jobs, etc. Please keep showing your thanks moving forward as you enjoy having water in your homes again! And please keep helping each other in the ways you have to offer-what a great community!

Update: Showers no longer available after noon on Friday, 10/9

The showers at Jenkins Garden Market will continue to be open and free to Carlisle residents from 6am to 9pm until further notice. We will update this page when the showers will be removed.
Please continue to check and follow the City of Carlisle site and page for official information.

A new day is breaking over the showers set up at JGM
I have a feeling today is going to be a great day in Carlisle. Please help us support our community and all that is good here by continuing to love your neighbors and sharing positivity! Thank your volunteers, community staff and let them know that the internet is NOT the real world!

Update: Showers no linger available after noon on 10/9

The shower stations provided by the Williams family and Consolidated Vending have been a hit and some improvements have been made.
There is now a porta potty thanks to Mike Killen Construction located by the handwashing station.
There has also been donations of coffee, orange juice and donuts made along with some jugs of drinking water that will be available while they last.
We live in a great place with great people ❤️💛

Update: Showers no linger available after noon on 10/9

We have showers! Things in Carlisle have been tough this week. Thanks to a generous Carlisle citizen, we have an 8 stall shower trailer available at JGM for residents to use for FREE. They will be available 4-9pm today, and 6am-9pm until further notice. Please bring your own towels and toiletries and help us keep the area clean.
The market is closed until Wednesday but the showers are available regardless.
