🌿 WEEKLY GARDEN TIP | Plant Herbs This Fall! 🌿
October is a wonderful time to plant perennial herbs like oregano, marjoram, rosemary, and chives! 🍃

Why plant now? Cooler temperatures and typically gentler fall weather give herbs time to establish their roots before the heat of a Texas summer arrives. With less stress from intense heat, your plants can settle into their new home and develop a strong foundation.

🌱 The payoff? Fall-planted herbs often get a head start on spring growth, giving you a lush, productive herb garden sooner when warmer weather returns!

☀️ A few planting tips:
🌿 Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil.
🌿 Avoid overwatering, especially with rosemary, which prefers drier conditions.
🌿 Give plants room to grow and good air circulation.
🌿 Snip fresh herbs as needed to add garden-to-table flavor to your favorite meals!

A little planting now can bring fresh flavor to your kitchen for seasons to come. Plant happiness this fall, y’all! 💚

🌿💜 SUNDAY IN THE GARDEN: WHERE HAPPINESS TAKES ROOT 💜🌿

There is something magical about a garden in bloom. It’s a gentle reminder that some of life’s most beautiful things take time, patience, and a little faith. 🌸

Here, purple asters mingle with brilliant magenta blooms, creating a celebration of color that seems to capture everything I love about gardening. After months of growing, tending, watering, and waiting, the garden gives back in the most beautiful way.

And right there on the wall is a little reminder of what gardening means to me: PLANT HAPPINESS, Y’ALL.

Because that’s what we really do when we garden. We plant hope. We nurture beauty. We make room for the unexpected. We learn to appreciate the changing seasons and discover that even the smallest bloom can bring an enormous amount of joy.

A garden doesn’t have to be perfect to be extraordinary. It simply needs a little love, a little sunshine, and someone willing to believe in what it can become.

So, this Sunday, may we all find a moment to slow down, step outside, breathe deeply, and appreciate the beautiful things growing around us.

May your coffee be warm, your flowers be blooming, and your heart be happy. ☕🌼

Because the best gardens don’t just grow flowers. They grow happiness. 💜

Happy Sunday, fellow gardeners! May your week ahead be filled with sunshine, beauty, and a little garden magic. 🌿✨

This weekend in the Texas garden:

* Begin moving outdoor houseplants to lower light areas to prepare them for the move indoors as winter approaches
* October and November are great months to plant trees. Checkout TexasTreePlanting.TAMU.edu/PlantTreeProperly.html for great “how to” information
* Now is a great time to plant garlic, leeks, shallots and bunching onions. Fertilize these plants twice a month with a liquid fertilizer once the beginning of producing new growth
* If you want fresh, fragrant paperwhites or amaryllis in you home this holiday season, now is a great time to purchase pre-chilled bulbs

🌷 TEXAS GARDENER TIP OF THE WEEK 🌷
🌱 October Is Bulb-Planting Season!

Want years of beautiful blooms with just one planting? Fall is the perfect time to add perennial bulbs to your landscape! Plant now and enjoy the blooming dividends for years to come.

🌸 Great Choices for Texas Gardens:

💛 Daffodils: Cheerful spring color; choose varieties suited to Texas winters.
💜 Rain Lilies: Texas-friendly favorites that often burst into bloom after rainfall.
❤️ Spider Lilies: Striking late-summer and fall flowers that return year after year.
🌺 Crinums: Heat-tolerant favorites with dramatic foliage and showy blooms.
💙 Grape Hyacinths: Charming spring flowers best suited to areas with adequate winter chilling.

🌿 Gardening Tip: Texas climates vary, so choose bulbs suited to your region. Plant in well-drained soil at the recommended depth, and let the foliage die back naturally after flowering to help bulbs store energy for next year.

🌷 Plant this fall, enjoy the color for years! A little effort now can bring lasting beauty to your Texas landscape.
Plant Happiness, Y'all from Texas Gardener!
