Public service announcement: Unfortunately, fraudulent "chimney companies" look real online. Southern Pines Chimney Sweep (operating via websites like southernpineschimneysweep.us) appears to be a lead-generation broker or referral network rather than a traditional, physical, locally owned chimney service company based directly in Southern Pines, North Carolina. It is a lead-generation website designed to capture your contact details and route your call to an outsourced network or third-party contractors. While it may connect you with someone who "performs" the work, they often utilize bait-and-switch pricing tactics or forward your job to unvetted, uncertified individuals.

Certified sweeps will be listed on CSIA.org.

Before: a rusty chase cover that had seen better days. After: a fresh, new, stainless-steel, powder-coated black (my favorite) chase cover, giving this chimney the protection and clean, finished look it deserves! 🔥🏠 Rusty chase covers can detract from your home’s appearance and may lead to water issues over time, but this upgrade has our Pinewild customer ready for the weather.

Before: the chimney had cap screening that just wasn’t getting the job done. After: a clean, protected chimney with a brand-new chimney cap! 🔥🏠 Another happy customer is looking sharp and ready for the weather. This install helps keep rain, leaves, debris, and unwanted critters out while giving the chimney a finished look. Little upgrades like this can make a BIG difference in protecting your home!

The first picture shows a completely deteriorated mortar crown and the absence of a chimney cap. This is a perfect scenario for water and critter intrusion. Problem solved with a cast-in-place cement crown, flue extensions, and a stainless steel chimney cap. The customer declined pressure washing.

Creosote buildup can happen faster than you think and it’s one of the top causes of chimney fires.
