On this special, spooky weekend, we wanted to recognize the creativity and Halloween spirit of our nursery staff member Maureen for bringing our “little friend” friend logo to life. 🧡 Well done! And happy Halloween to all of our friends out there!

At the All American Reptile Expo last weekend, a customer said, “Your booth is like a jungle. Why don’t you do this in the garden center?” So we brought the jungle vibes back with us. 😎 Come lose yourself in a ton of new houseplants.

Care Level: Easy || Monsteras 👇

Monstera is a genus native to central and south America containing nearly 60 species of flowering plants. We love them because they absolutely thrive with minimal maintenance. It’s a vine, so it climbs, and its enormous “cut” leaves will turn your space into a tropical rainforest.

Have questions about monsteras or any other houseplant in your collection? Leave them in the comments below, and we’ll get back to you.

Happy houseplants!

Which plants clean the air best? 🤔

PSA: Put those things away! 📣

We’re talking about your pruners. It’s tempting to prune your perennials back this time of year, but actually, that can do more harm than good.

Pruning your perennials now leaves their roots and crown exposed to the cold weather, whereas their leaves would normally catch the snow and create a kind of insulating igloo. Plus, a ton of beneficial insects live in the mulch, so if you do too much cleaning up you may find yourself with a pest problem next spring.

All in all, taking your pruners to the garage rather than to your perennials will help your plants come back stronger next year. 😊

Winter bulbs like paperwhites are a great way to add fragrance and color to your home in the wintertime. But unlike paperwhites, you can plant hyacinths in the ground after their first flowering and enjoy them year after year. 😊

Ever heard of kokedama? It’s a traditional Japanese gardening art form where you wrap a plant’s root system in a boil or soil and live moss. The result is a pot-less, self-contained miniature garden that can be hung and host a variety of plants. Keep an eye on our calendar for an upcoming kokedama workshop!
