A couple of photos from one of our gardens.
Aster ‘October Skies’ is absolutely covered in lavender-blue blooms right now! While so many plants are winding down for the season, this beauty is just hitting its stride.

‘October Skies’ is a selection of our native aromatic aster (Symphyotrichum oblongifolium), and it’s a wonderful late-season food source for bees and other pollinators.

🌿 A few plant facts:

* Height: 18–24”
* Spread: 24–36”
* Full sun
* Zones 3–8
* Drought tolerant once established
* Deer and rabbit resistant

It forms a beautiful, mounded plant and puts on an incredible show of color when the garden needs it most.

🌸 The final cut flowers of the season!

And just like that, year two of our U-Cut Flower Garden is in the books!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to cut flowers with us this season. I’ve learned SO much this second year, and I already have plenty of ideas for making the garden even better next year!

There’s definitely been some trial and error along the way, but that’s part of the fun of gardening, right?

A special thank you to Liz Hiemstra for letting me pick your brain about growing cut flowers and for sending customers our way! And thank you to all of our wonderful customers who have recommended us to friends and family. Word of mouth truly is the best advertising, and we appreciate it more than you know! ❤️

We look forward to sharing an even more beautiful flower garden with you in 2027!
