HVAC Install Starts on the Duets | Electrical Is Next

It's been a minute since I posted, but don't mistake quiet for slow. Content took a backseat to getting work done.

This is a quick walk-through from a couple weeks ago, right as we got ready to start HVAC installation on the Duet projects. Electrical is coming up right behind it.

Stay tuned, and like, subscribe, and comment. Tell me what you want to see next on the build.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage of the first responders, volunteers, and communities who came together in the days that followed.

At Queen Boss Construction, we are grateful for the strength, service, and resilience that continue to inspire our country.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

As summer winds down and fall routines begin, it is a great time to look at the progress happening around your home.

Not every improvement needs to be a full renovation. It might be finalizing ideas for a kitchen remodel, planning a more functional bathroom, or taking the first step toward the outdoor living space your family has been imagining.

At Queen Boss Construction, we believe meaningful progress starts with a clear plan, an organized process, and communication you can count on.

What home project has been on your mind lately? Share it in the comments—we would love to hear what you are planning for your Charlotte-area home.

Faison Side Roof = DONE ✅ | Skyline Views Coming This Fall

Standing on top of the Faison side and the roof is officially wrapped. Come fall, once these leaves drop, we’ll have a clear shot to the skyline from right up here. Meanwhile the crew’s already stacking trusses on the Brevard side — no time to admire the view for long. Quality over code, one roofline at a time. Onward and upward.

Like this video and follow along for the rest of the build. Drop a comment — would you take that view?

Setting 30ft of LVLs on the Roof with a Rented Telehandler | North Brevard Duets

Up on the second floor today looking down at the crew as we get ready to set LVLs on the roof — about 30 linear feet total, plus the truss package still to go in. Wasn’t exactly how I planned to spend the day, but that’s construction. We rented a telehandler for this lift and we’re getting it done, onward and upward. This is Queen Boss Construction quality — built past code, not to it. Follow along as we take the North Brevard Duets from framing to finish. Like, subscribe, and drop a comment if you’ve got questions about LVL installs or telehandler work.

The Secret Cost Contractors Don’t Tell You About

That “great deal” quote? It’s missing something. 👀 Unlicensed contractors lowball you upfront, then hit you with change order after change order. At Queen Boss Construction, we do flat rate pricing — one number, all-inclusive, no surprises. Always hire a licensed GC. Protect your investment. 🏗️

Some traditions are worth building into the calendar.

For more than four decades, five friends have returned to the same cabin at Copco Lake to recreate one photo every five years. What began as a spontaneous snapshot at age 19 became a lasting reminder that strong relationships are built by showing up—again and again.

At Queen Boss Construction, we appreciate the value of creating spaces where those traditions can continue: kitchens for long conversations, patios for reunions, and home additions that make room for more memories.

When the concrete’s drying faster than you can pour it… 👀

Poured a sidewalk slab for Randolph Middle School’s new playground — built so their exceptional students get real outside time. PTO-sponsored, all hands on deck.

Heat was working against us and the mix was setting up fast. Needed one more set of hands and Corey stepped right in, holding plastic to keep splash off the building while the buggy poured. That’s the job — you adapt.

Quality over code, even on a favor. Onward and upward. 🧡
