Next in the series: this laundry room. She has a gold lantern pendant, a shiplap ceiling, and a snack station for the dog. Your laundry room has a basket of orphan socks.

Custom cabinetry in a soft sea-glass blue, wrapped all the way up through the crown, so even the ceiling line is considered. Brass bar pulls and k***s echo the gold-framed art and that lantern pendant. A farmhouse sink handles soaking and hand-washing. And the floor tile has pattern and personality.

Then there’s the stuff you only notice on the second look. A pull-down hanging rod tucked into the upper cabinet, so freshly pressed shirts have somewhere to land. Glass jars on the counter for detergent on one side and dog treats and kibble on the other, because even the pets get a little styling here.

Plenty of laundry rooms are practical. Fewer are this pretty while also being this practical. Save this for the day you finally decide your laundry room deserves better.

What a makeover! One of our favorite before and after transformations to showcase.

Where do you keep your cookbooks? Here, the answer is “behind arched glass, like the treasures they are.” Where we started: dark stain, carved details, and a layout that kept everyone in a corner. Where we landed: a bright, open kitchen with a vaulted shiplap ceiling, warm beams overhead, and two soft blue-gray islands that give the whole room somewhere to gather.

The perimeter is crisp white cabinetry from , with arched mullion glass doors that make everyday dishes look like a display. The island doors do the same for a cookbook collection. Then there’s the brass. Tall, ornate pulls run nearly floor-to-ceiling, and every drawer gets a warm brass bar pull. A pot filler over the range, a farmhouse sink, and a paneled refrigerator that disappears into the wall keep it working as hard as it looks.

Share with the friend who would absolutely use two islands (we’re not judging).

Same bathroom. Same footprint. Completely different mood.

The before: warm amber tile floor to ceiling, speckled granite, dark stained cabinetry, oil-rubbed bronze fixtures, and a big flat mirror. It was cohesive in its own way, but it was a lot of one note.

The after is a full pivot to soft white and cool marble. The dark-stained vanity became custom cabinetry with fluted corner columns, a bracketed base, and clear glass k***s and bar pulls with polished-nickel ends. The builder-grade mirror became two framed mirrors with a sconce between them. The shower got a fleur-de-lis mosaic panel, a built-in bench, and a basket-weave floor. A clawfoot tub now sits under café shutters, so you get the light without the audience.

A mudroom this pretty has no business holding muddy shoes. We designed it to anyway.

A soft seafoam finish on inset cabinetry, brass hooks over beadboard, and a warm wood bench with open shelves below, so shoes have a home that isn’t the middle of the floor. A tall cabinet hides everything you’d rather not look at, and the real plot twist is the little built-in desk nook. It has two drawers with brass bar pulls and a curved bracket detail underneath, because even the mail pile deserves nice furniture.

It’s the kind of space that catches the backpacks, the beach hats, and the chaos before it ever reaches the kitchen.

This is the first stop on a home tour: kitchen, primary bath, wet bar, laundry room, and mudroom. We’re starting at the back door and working our way in.

We love a bathroom makeover! Soft blue walls, white shaker-style cabinetry, and a hex-tile marble floor that keeps the whole room feeling calm and bright.

The real star is the details, though: tall storage towers flanking the mirror pull storage up the wall instead of eating into your counter, and the hardware has a gentle ripple that makes plain white doors look tailored, almost like jewelry. Pair that with a vintage-style faucet and a marble countertop with soft gray veining, and you’ve got a bathroom that feels classic without feeling stuck in the past.

Well, this is a fun one to wake up to: Classic Cabinetry in ! 🗞️

We had a blast sitting down with Lisa Denton while she dug into the ins and outs of custom cabinetry for the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Her piece, "From Pinterest to Perfection," is all about turning a camera roll full of saved kitchens into one that actually works for your real life.

's advice for anyone just starting out? "Know your must-haves and can't-live-withouts."

A few more designer faves that made the cut: cabinet-depth refrigerators (a built-in look without blowing the budget, per the piece), microwave drawers that hand your countertop back to you, and freestanding ranges with custom hoods. For this client and project, we designed this holistically, pulling together everything from "I want to showcase my grandmother's china" to a complete overhaul of the kitchen layout, island, and the entire space being built for this family. The kind with a fridge covered in memories, and, judging by the photos lined up on the counter, some serious football loyalty.

This kitchen went from "we inherited this from 2002" to "yes, we'll be hosting Thanksgiving, why do you ask?"

The before had all the hallmarks: dated oak cabinetry marching wall to wall, a valance doing its best 2000s era impression, and a wall oven that had clearly seen some things...

Swipe for along for the afters (and our custom design, ahem). A two-tone kitchen where a rich, dark-wood island anchors the room, while soft white perimeter cabinetry opens everything up. We paired the cabinetry with black hardware to add complementary detail work. A dimensional white tile runs the full height of the range wall, a pot filler (seriously, every kitchen needs this), and the countertops tie the whole thing together with and white-and-gray movement that screams "Thanksgiving here!"

Somewhere out there, someone is wrapping a birthday present on their bedroom floor surrounded by loose ribbon. Not here.

We built a dedicated ribbon wall, which means no more digging through a drawer for the right color. A built-in desk with knee space means you can actually sit down to wrap instead of hunched over the floor. And storage boxes up top keep gift bags, tissue paper, and everything else corralled instead of stacked in a closet somewhere. This gorgeous and bold navy really doesn't hurt either.

We believe that a powder bath should never be an afterthought.

Warm, richly stained cabinetry with crystal k***s and pulls? Nine custom-built drawers mean everything gets its own spot; no more digging past three hair dryers to find a Band-Aid. A curved bridge faucet and an oval undermount sink keep the whole look classic, and that mirror? It's doing main-character work all on its own.
