We can hardly contain our excitement! For the very first time, we’re heading into the holiday season with not one but TWO shops, each filled top to bottom and front to back across two full floors of beautiful handmade and carefully curated holiday treasures. ✨

Why you won’t want to miss our Holiday Open Houses:

🎁 Limited treasures go fast. Many of our holiday pieces arrive in very small quantities, sometimes just a few of each, and once they’re gone, they’re gone!

👀 First look, before anyone else. Open House is your first chance as an Iron Bird customer to see and shop our holiday collection before it’s out during regular hours.

🎶 A festive celebration. Holiday music, plenty of refreshments, and savory and sweet treats to munch on while you shop.

🌿 A very special shout-out to Miriam Bradford of Touch Grass for helping make The Downing House look absolutely beautiful for Chester County Day! 🍂🏡

Miriam transformed our front porch into the perfect welcoming entrance for such a special day, and I couldn’t have loved it more.

Miriam is a Philadelphia-based botanical designer and the founder of Touch Grass, specializing in floral design, interior & exterior styling, seasonal installations and workshops. Her creativity and attention to detail are truly something special.

Thank you, Miriam, for helping bring the vision to life and adding a little extra magic to a day we’ll never forget. 🤎🌿✨

🏡 WHAT. A. DAY. 🩷

The 85th Annual Chester County Day & House Tour did not disappoint!

As a homeowner — and someone who grew up right here in Chester County loving Chester County Day — having The Downing House included on this year’s tour was truly a dream come true for me.

Yesterday, we opened the doors of our home to the community…and you showed up! 955 people had the opportunity to walk through The Downing House and experience a little piece of its incredible history. 🏡

This home is so deeply rooted in the history of Downingtown. Its walls have stood for more than 300 years and, if they could talk, I can only imagine the stories they would tell. Knowing that we get to be just one small chapter in its very long story makes yesterday even more meaningful.

And I’m still in awe that our home was chosen — especially after seeing some of the other incredible homes on this year’s tour. I mean…all I can say is WOW! 😍

A HUGE thank you to Chester County Hospital, the Chester County Hospital Auxiliary, and the wonderful volunteers who spent the day taking such great care of our home while sharing its history with hundreds of visitors.

Thank you to Touch Grass for helping us transform our front porch and making it look absolutely beautiful. 🌿

And, of course, thank you to the loyal Chester County Day tour-goers who continue to support this incredible tradition year after year.

It truly takes so many people to make a day like this happen, and we are incredibly grateful to have been a small part of the 85th Annual Chester County Day.

Yesterday was one of those days I know I’ll remember forever. 🩷
