gochujang tteokbokki scissor-cut noodles! 🌶️🔥

I said these were chewy like tteokbokki… so i actually made them tteokbokki LOL

real tteokbokki uses rice cakes, but these get just as chewy, and you don't need to hunt down rice cakes. just regular all-purpose flour + water dough snipped straight into the water OR broth for max flavor

leftover cooked noodles work great here too bc they soak up the sauce :D

1) simmer a little water or broth with gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, honey sugar + garlic
2) stir until smooth and bubbly
3) add noodles (+ fish cakes if you have them) ((i hate fish cakes sorry))
4) simmer a few minutes until the sauce gets thick + glossy
5) garnish and serve hot!!

the sugar balances the heat + salt from the gochujang, and the flour on the noodles thickens the sauce so it coats every piece

How to make very simple two 2️⃣ ingredient scissor-cut noodles!

An excellent way to use up leftover dumpling wrapper dough, or any unleavened dough with high gluten. Simply boil for about two minutes or until set and chewy. :)

what to with leftover rice: make cutie yaki onigiri :) pan fried soy + sesame oil-coated rice, lightly crisped on the outside, and nicely moistly reheated on the inside
