Kathleen Strnad, RA, will be presenting at the AIA Illinois Conference tomorrow, October 23, from 10:45-11:45 AM CT.

Kathleen will be joined by fellow presenter Lauren Shelton AIA, LEED AP, of Valerio Dewalt Train for a collaborative session exploring the story behind the renovation of Chicago's Shedd Aquarium. Drawing on the expertise and partnership between their firms, they will discuss the unique challenges, design strategies, and preservation solutions that helped transform this iconic landmark while honoring its rich history.

Our K&H Kares team spent a half day in Lincoln Park for a river clean-up and seed collection at Urban Rivers' “Wild Mile.” We kayaked along the water using grabbers to clean trash out of the river and collected seeds from plants on the floating gardens for use in dispersal of native plants in other areas around the city. We care for both the natural and built environment.

We are delighted to recognize Patrick Dillon on becoming a Licensed Architect and earning the Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) certification.

To become a Licensed Architect, Pat passed all six divisions of the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) in under six months and completed the Architectural Experience Program (AXP), demonstrating his ability to guide a project from conception through construction documents and construction administration.

The CDT certification underscores his understanding of how projects are organized, written, and delivered, helping to enhance communication between architects and construction professionals.

Our Inspectors are the eyes and ears on our projects. They complete field inspections and communicate field conditions with our engineering team. The Inspectors oversee the work in progress in the field including any potential changes to a design or repair until the project is complete.
