A Snowstorm of Leaves

Yesterday afternoon, sitting in my driveway talking to Teresa, a gust of wind shook the trees along the fence line. A few leaves fell, then more and more, until it appeared to be snowing small golden bits of sunshine.

It was so beautiful that I wanted to get my phone and capture it on video. But I knew in the scrambling to capture it, I would lose the experience of just being a part of it, witnessing its beauty.

Don't we often find ourselves doing that? Rushing to capture a moment, instead of just enjoying it and thanking God for allowing us to see these wonderful things happening around us?

I want to spend more time intentionally finding the joy God sends us in the little moments, the unexpected delights, the things He sends us just to see us smile.

I pray you take time this week to pause, to really see the wonder and joy in the small things God places in our path and to thank Him for it.
