An unexpected, but very cool surprise!

My brain always searches for significance & symbolism in everything, maybe too much.
When I first decided to add forget-me-nots to this painting, it was for an obvious reason….they are blue (her favorite color) & I won’t ever forget her.
But as I reflected on the ones I grew in the flower field this year, I was reminded of how the seeds seemed to jump off the dying plant and stick themselves to my sweater as I was saving them. Try as I might, I never did get all the seeds out of the woven fabric of that sweater. It’s like they have become part of it, now.
And this made me think about how she sowed seeds in everyone she raised, taught, trained, served & loved. Seeds of knowledge, seeds of wisdom, seeds of humor & love & strength. And even though she’s gone now, those seeds are embedded in the fabric of who we are now. And I’ll be forever grateful for that.
Still a ways to go on this. But it’s getting there ❤️

Forgot to video today’s work…so here ya go..a video of the current work in progress.

I’m not ready to talk about the why, just yet.
But for all those who have asked…yes, the brick wall is done. And yes, I am back “in the studio”.
I’ll be around, to show you more on both subjects…soon-ish.
And yes, the sweater is inside out. And yes, it’s appropriate, considering. ❤️

When all’s said and done, 6 colors will have been used to get this wall to all her faux aged white brick beautiful-ness. The finish line is in sight!

Windows are done at work ☃️⛄️
I could have done more in details and such but…it’s freakin’ cold!! And it had to be finished today.
It’s so much fun for me when people come into the diner and comment on it! I love the joy it brings those who notice it 🎄 (video of the windows in my stories 🙂 )

If you need me, I’ll be right here. Painting. For at least 492 hours.

First we caulked all the cracks, then covered the entire wall in drywall primer. The cracks are still visible, but much less so. Now the real fun begins!

Will I be able to fix this faux brick wall? Let me know what you think, and stay tuned for the rest of the process
