✨ Feature Friday: Solar Pool Covers ☀️💦

They might not be the prettiest pool accessory, but they certainly have their uses! 😅

A solar cover helps reduce evaporation and retain heat overnight — particularly useful when Florida's temperatures start to dip.

Sometimes keeping the warmth you already have is just as important as adding more! ☀️💦

But remember, a solar cover isn't a substitute for a heater or a pool safety cover.

💙 Welcome to the Pool Family! 💦

Just a few of the new pools we now have the privilege of caring for each week. 🏡💦

💙 Behind the Business 💦
One of the realities of running a family business? Everyone has their usual role… until something else needs doing! 😂

With two team members out on Friday, Abi and I swapped school books and the office (with AC!) for a day out on the route, helping cover the gaps and keeping the day's schedule moving.

When we spotted Alan working in the same community, we couldn't pass up the chance to grab a rare picture of the three of us in uniform. The “Dream Team” in action! 📸

As well as seeing Alan out on the route, it was great getting to meet some of our pool families in person. A special thank you to everyone who came out to say hello — you certainly made two slightly-out-of-their-usual-habitat pool techs feel very welcome! 💙💦

🎓 Myth vs Fact: Chlorine Burns Your Eyes 👀💦

❌ MYTH:
If your eyes are red, burning or irritated after swimming, there must be too much chlorine in the pool.

✅ FACT:
Eye irritation can be caused by chloramines and/or unbalanced pH — not simply having too much chlorine in the water.

🧪 What are chloramines?
Chloramines form when chlorine reacts with contaminants that get into the water — and we don't just mean dirt and debris. Sweat, body oils, sunscreen and makeup count too!

👓 Swimmer tip: Even in properly balanced water, prolonged exposure can irritate sensitive eyes. Wearing well-fitting swim goggles — especially if you spend a lot of time underwater — can help keep your eyes comfortable.

🚚 September… that's a wrap! 💙💦

It's been another busy month:
🏡 264 pool families cared for
🚚 1,129 service stops completed
🔧 8 installed items
💦 A LOT of sparkling water

Throw in Florida weather doing what Florida weather does, and more miles on the trucks than we'd probably like to think about… and that was September! 😅

Through all of it, one thing stays the same — we're grateful for the team that keeps everything moving and our pool family who continue to trust us to do what we do best: caring for your pool as if it were our own.

Thank you for another great month, pool family! 💙💦

🔍 Troubleshooting | What Caused That Pool Stain?
A stain is a stain… right? Not quite. 👀

Pool discoloration can have several different causes. Iron, copper, organic material, mineral scale and algae can all leave their mark on a pool surface — and what works for one may do very little for another.

That's why when we see discoloration, the first question isn't simply “How do we remove it?”

It's “What's causing it?”

The appearance and location of the discoloration, water chemistry, source water, equipment and how the surface responds to testing can all provide clues.

Getting the diagnosis right means we can choose the appropriate treatment rather than simply throwing chemicals at the problem and hoping something works.

Different causes. Different treatments. Diagnosis matters. 🔍💙💦

✨ Pool Showcase | Water Feature Spotlight 💦

We see plenty of beautiful pools on our routes, but it's always fun coming across a feature that's a little out of the ordinary.

This one takes a slightly different approach, with a rock-lined feature that winds its way from the spa to the pool and adds a little something different to the backyard.

Do you have a water feature in your pool?

🙌 A Little Thank You to Our Pool Family 💙💦

We've had quite a few moments lately that have reminded us just how fortunate we are to have the pool family we do.

A recommendation in a local group. A tag when someone asks for a pool company. A lovely review. Our name passed along to a family member, friend or neighbor.

Those things might seem small, but to a family business like ours, they really aren't.

Every one of them represents someone choosing to put their trust in our little family business — not only with their own pool, but enough to recommend us to someone else too.

We notice it. We appreciate it. We never take it for granted. 💙💦

🚚 Ride Along 💪 Problem Solved | Replace or Revive?

When we take on a new pool, one of the things we do during the first service is inspect and clean the filter. From there, it becomes part of our regular maintenance routine, with filters inspected and cleaned every four weeks.

Sometimes that first clean reveals a little more than expected. 👀

This filter had significant mineral buildup that a regular cleaning wasn't going to remove — but that didn't necessarily mean it needed replacing.

With the filter itself still in good condition, we gave it a deeper acid treatment to tackle the remaining scale — and the results speak for themselves. 💦

If we can revive it, we will. If we can't, that's when we'll recommend replacement.

💙 Behind the Business | First Day of Fall 🍂

The leaves are changing…

Well, somewhere they are.

The sweaters are coming out…

Maybe in December.

The pools are closing for the season…

What's a pool season?

Around here, fall still means sunshine, palm trees and plenty of pools to care for — just with the hope that eventually we'll be able to finish a route without melting. 😅

It's perhaps not the traditional autumn experience, but we wouldn't trade our Florida version for anything.

Happy first day of fall, pool family! 💙💦
