Today, National First Responders Day hits a little differently. ❤️🚒

Just last week, we stood helplessly watching our building burn down. And while we stood there watching something we’d worked so hard for go up in flames, we watched first responders run toward them without hesitation.

But one of the moments that has stayed with us the most happened after the flames were out.

We walked through what was left of our building, completely unprepared for the devastation. (We hadn’t even thought about what shoes to wear and showed up in sandals). As we stood there, covered in ash and soot, one of the firefighters quietly came over and offered to wash off our feet and shoes.

It was such a simple gesture, but it reminded us of Jesus washing His disciples’ feet. A quiet act of humility, compassion, and service. Here was someone who had just risked his life for complete strangers, still finding ways to serve us in the smallest of moments.

While we were standing there worried about our building and our pets, someone else’s husband, wife, father, mother, son, daughter, sister, or brother was running inside it….. For us…. People they didn’t even know.

To every first responder who runs toward what the rest of us run from, and to every family waiting for them to come home, thank you. ❤️

Friendly reminder that WE ARE OPEN!! Things might look a little different but we still plan on getting all of your favor...
