First of its kind that I’m aware of, certainly the first strapless hybrid I’ve made. Anthurium ceronii x pallidiflorim.

Sect porphyrochitonium and pachynerium often have longer gestation, and will happily maintain an unpopulated inflorescence for months before dying off, tricking you into thinking a pollination was successful. So hybridizing them can be frustrating.

Likely not to be super different than either parent, I’m still excited for these little guys. Small batch, only about 12 total, this one the biggest so far.

Ok a real International Aroid Plant Society Tropical Plant Expo post.

I was mostly too busy to really take many photos this year, but here are a few that make me smile. I’m incredibly proud to be a part of the all volunteer team that makes this event happen, inviting 89 vendors and about 2000 people to Miami to celebrate this plant family. It was a wonderful weekend that I will always remember. All in the name of fundraising to fund research, education and conservation efforts.

Thank you to everyone that came out, that donated, that bid on auction plants and supported our vendors and contributed to the great vibes of the weekend. Thank you.
