I don’t normally post on my business profile, but flooring contractors cheered when Lumber Liquidators went out of business in 2022!
Can’t tell you how many stories we all had of the fraud, the scams, the lack of support customers had!
When you see an ad for a product at ridiculous low prices, they are actually the left over someone else already paid for on projects where they notoriously ordered too much, usually 10% of the total sq ft! Normally even 5% is too much! Then when you get in the store, they high pressure sale the rest of the material you would need to complete a room at double, sometimes triple what legitimate stores would sell for!
Other examples, Engineered products delaminating because installers don’t know what they’re doing not leaving room for expansion and contraction. So when wood, Laminates, even Vinyl expands in our higher humidity seasons, it has no where to go.
So they send out a warranty adjuster. He counts the problem boards, adjusts for depreciation, and when done, pay out the customer $75!!!!! I personally had a Customer scammed like this!!
