Sometimes it worked. Sometimes it didn't. 🔥
That's what one homeowner was experiencing with their gas fireplace. The wall switch would occasionally turn the fireplace on normally, while other times the unit wouldn't respond.
During the service appointment, our technician inspected and tested the system and determined that the thermopile needed to be replaced. After discussing the findings with the homeowner, the thermopile was replaced and the system was tested again to confirm proper operation.
The visit also included annual maintenance and a deep cleaning of the fireplace, along with checks of the venting and gas system. No gas leaks were found, and the fireplace was returned to the homeowner operating correctly.
Intermittent fireplace problems can have an underlying cause, even when the unit still works some of the time.
