Two things I kept noticing all over High Point Market this Fall: scallops and burlwood.
Scalloped edges are turning up on everything from case goods to upholstery, bringing softness and a little movement to pieces that might otherwise feel straightforward. Burlwood is back with real depth and character, and no two pieces are alike, which is part of what makes it so special.
I love both used with restraint. A single scalloped detail or one burlwood piece can anchor a room and give it personality without taking over. That’s the approach I bring to every project: choosing the right moments for something special instead of layering in every trend at once.
Market is a great reminder of how much creativity is out there. Walking the showrooms, talking with makers, and seeing what’s coming next gave me so much to bring home. Trends come and go, but inspiration is what sticks with you, and I’m excited to put it to work for our clients.
