Happy Harvest Gardeners! Such a joy to spend the day with Gabi and the poodles 💚 harvesting our research field and collecting data. I don't know what the winners are yet but a day spent getting things done in the garden is a winner of a day for me!

I hope you are all out enjoying your garden, your city, your community, in whatever way makes you smile. I recommend including a friend and a puppers if you can 😊

Research, on a 🪴 farm?
💚On the research side of things we have trialed over a thousand cultivars, looking for the most uniform and delightfully terpy plants we can find.
💚Our team is me (barely me, to be honest), my husband Ryan, and our one employee and friend Gabi. I wouldn't run a business with someone I wouldn't trust to watch our dogs (we watch her dogs too).
💚 We couldn't run our farm and all its bits (research, grow it from home, flower production, fresh frozen processing, dried flower, and now in dispensaries (!) with Sisters of the Valley this Fall) without the support of many, many, hard working and crazy smart collaborators (you know who you are 💖)

It's here! The last week of September is the start of harvest for our garden community, with cultivars like Tiger Tamer usually ready "first" and Banana Box Cake being "last" and so many in between. Please check out our YouTube and website for detailed information, and remember, there is no ✌️ perfect or right way ✌️ do what works for you.

🌺Quick Harvest Tips🌺
🌱Get your drying area ready first. Harvest can wait a few days, until the next weekend, etc.
🌱 If you have rain coming in or will be out of town, harvest! There is no perfect day to pick an apple in your backyard either, except the day you need to pick that apple ☺️
🌱If you have some combination of limited time/ lots of plants/a small drying space, I can not endorse using the buck-then-hanging-basket method enough

Sending out a care package 💖 just taking a moment to be grateful. I know so many of our gardeners help others with their plants and I feel lucky to have resources like our seeds, recipes, and this amazing zine I can't recommend enough from Microcosm Publishing that always makes me laugh. I forgot to include the 'here's to our budding relationship's canna-card in the photo and the dog treats, but what I'm getting at is, there are so many ways to be there for yourself and others, it doesn't have to look like one thing. Just show up for yourself and those in your life however it feels best 💖

Always feel free to send me info for your local community group, non profit, or friend in need, that could use some 🪴💚 and I will followup.

Happy Tuesday gardeners! I hope wherever you are, you are enjoying yourself 💚
💚 feeling so lucky to be home, resting up after having Covid, so fortunate to be able to put in another 100 ft of veggies for our local food pantry
💚 feeling grateful for my upcoming cancer scans (Friday!) and a little sad about missing out on the California State Fair but I know y'all will have a great time without me and Christina CHRISTINA W. | Fruit + Flower Co. will rock it!
