“Shadiyah in the Sunflowers” 🌻 and “Stormy Skies” ⛈️ are headed to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Rockville for an October exhibition with the Gaithersburg Fine Arts Association. This may be the last exhibition for Stormy Skies, so catch it if you can.

A little update from Windy Fox Hill 🦊 We’re starting to talk about possible design concepts, and we had such a fun time exploring appliance possibilities! Lots of decisions still ahead, but it’s exciting to imagine everyday life here. Little steps closer to making it the next version of home.

Hey ya'll, I am getting things ready to make candles and reed diffusers for the season. This year will be a very small, limited run (fewer than 20 available); I have a lot to do and don't want to overdo it. Been working on a new collection of three scents this year ...

🦊Windy Fox Hill (Signature Scent)
Essence of being up on the hill in a bottle. Candlelight, subtle soft floral in a collected room, cedar and sandalwood underfoot, amber warmth from the hearth — this is the one built to smell like home.

🌲On the Ridge (Cool / Evergreen)
The woods we see from our hillside, brought inside. Fir, dried leaves, cold winter air, a little citrus lift — for anyone who misses walking through actual woods in December.

🔥By the Fireside (Warm / Spice)
Cinnamon and vanilla with a wee bit of a bright cranberry snap, built for the mantel during entertaining season. Cozy, without tipping into too sweet.

What do you think? Suggestions?

AND ... if you have any special requests for candles or diffusers, now is the time to ask. I can pour you a couple in your favorite scents while I am working on the others. I am ordering supplies this week.

Monday admin day means paperwork and pushing the Arts Entwine-to-Windy Fox Hill rebrand forward. It is slow, unglamorous work, but it matters. The new studio is taking shape on paper, and the brand is catching up to this next adventure in creativity. One step at a time up the hill.

Currently, my studio at home is the smallest bedroom, and it is a tight fit. BUT ... I hired a local design-build firm to help me create an amazing new studio that will be a glorious, light-filled working space, including enough room to host other artists and teach (plus update some other things in the house ... kitchen, basement, etc.). Designs will be ready in early November, and I cannot wait to see the creative solutions they come up with. Construction will start in the spring. In the meantime, just going to have to make it work. I am really ready for some studio time ...
