🚨 Another “locksmith” bricked this car. We brought it back to life.
2010 MINI Cooper. The customer called us for a spare key. When we arrived, we learned another technician had already been there. He attempted a procedure he clearly wasn’t qualified for and killed the car’s security module. Instead of owning up to it, he blamed the battery and said there was nothing he could do. And according to the customer, he still charged for his "work."
The truth: after he tampered with the system, the car showed no signs of life at all, and the battery was perfectly fine.
So we stepped in to make it right. We explained the additional work involved before we started. Getting to the module meant tearing down the dash (you’ll see it in the video). Now the car starts and runs, and the customer has a brand-new key with a working remote.
Here’s the truth about this industry:
today anyone can buy a $500 mass-market programmer and call themselves an automotive locksmith. But one off-the-shelf tool isn’t enough. Many vehicles require highly specialized equipment, and a real professional shows up with a full set of tools and several professional-grade electronic devices. The electronics in modern cars, especially the security system, are probably the most sensitive part of the vehicle, and cheap equipment in inexperienced hands can damage them in minutes. European cars like BMW, MINI, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Volkswagen are especially unforgiving. Hire the wrong person, and you might not just end up without the key you were promised. You could end up with a car that won’t start and an expensive repair bill.
Before you book a car locksmith:
✅ Find out who the company really is
✅ Look at their past work and reviews
✅ Ask who exactly is coming to your car
Many "locksmith companies" are just dispatch centers that hand your job to whoever’s available. That could be someone whose entire toolkit is a single cheap programmer, with no experience to back it up.
Or just call us.
We’re not a dispatch center. Every job is handled by our own local team, never handed off to strangers. We bring extensive hands-on experience and a wide range of equipment to every call, from multi-purpose tools to highly specialized devices. On top of that, we have official software from many car manufacturers with full dealer-level access. That means we can handle jobs that many others can’t, and fix what others have broken. We’re always honest with our customers, and our reputation matters to us.
Real expertise. Real equipment. Real locksmiths.
