There’s a mystery in the garden… and we know just the person to solve it! 🕵️‍♂️

This month, we’re putting the spotlight on Paul, our resident Plant Health Specialist, who’s been helping Lurvey customers get to the root of their plant problems since April 2012!

Known around Lurvey as “The Professor,” Paul earned his nickname by becoming the go-to expert for even the toughest plant questions. From diagnosing watering woes to once uncovering a gas leak as the culprit behind a customer’s struggling plants, there’s no mystery too big (or small) for Paul to investigate!

And after years of solving plant mysteries, Paul knows that sometimes the most common culprit is hiding in plain sight: overwatering! His advice? Pay close attention to how much water your plants are getting, as too much moisture can be one of the biggest threats to healthy roots.

But for Paul, the real reward isn’t just cracking the case. It’s helping customers bring their plants back to health and hearing them return to share that his advice worked!

And behind what he jokingly calls his “grumpy old man aura”? A nature lover who enjoys photographing wildlife around his pond, relaxing on the deck, and taking a well-deserved nap!

🌿 Cover vulnerable plants with frost cloth or protective coverings when temperatures are expected to drop near freezing.

🪴 Bring potted plants indoors or move cold-sensitive containers to a protected location.

🍂 Prepare for the season ahead by taking steps now to help your garden weather the winter and thrive again come spring.
