Nygaard Nursery

🌼 TOMORROW’S THE DAY! 🌼

Our very first sale at the new Nygaard Nursery, 2200 8th Ave N in Moorhead, and it’s all about MUMS! 🍂

A truckload of fresh mums rolls in tomorrow morning, and we’ll be set up and ready to go at 9 AM, rain or… more rain. ☔😄

Just so we’re clear, this isn’t our grand opening. We’ve still got plenty of work ahead. But it’s a fun chance to show off our freshly painted concrete parking lot (yes, we’re proud of it!) and give you wonderful folks a peek at the big dreams I have for this place.

It’s been 7 days a week, 12+ hour days to get here, and I’d love nothing more than to see your faces. Come say hi! You don’t need to buy a darn thing. 💛

🌼 TRUCKLOAD MUM SALE 🌼
This Saturday, September 26 · 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (or until they’re gone!)
📍 2200 8th Ave N, Moorhead, right off Hwy 75

Friends, this isn’t our grand opening. Our new forever home is still very much a work in progress. But my good friend and incredible grower Darin Hafner offered up a whole truck full of gorgeous mums we are going to sell at discounted prices to help us welcome you to the new spot. Honestly, it’s the perfect excuse for me to step away from the grind for a day and say hello to all my flower friends.

Come see where Nygaard Nursery is putting down roots, grab some fall color for your porch, and let’s catch up. These mums won’t last long, so come early!

To everyone who has called, texted, waved, honked, and cheered us on through this move: I can’t thank you enough. Your support means the world, and I’m so thankful and grateful for every one of you.

Yes, those are sweat stains on my shirt. And I couldn’t be more thankful for this picture of me with my girls. 🌱

Our Dilworth location has officially closed its doors, and we’re now in the thick of the move packing up, hauling across town, and preparing for our new permanent home in Moorhead. It’s a work in progress, and we’re not open there quite yet, but every day gets us closer.

My lovely wife is the rock the one who made all of this possible. My brother has slogged through years of helping in any way imaginable, from power-washing a parking lot at my temporary location, to driving trailers across Minnesota with me, figuring out flat tires and every little thing in between, to helping dream up the best ways to display our plants.

Then Bentley Construction came in, took an idea, and ran with it helping me put together something that’s still years from finished, but the seed is planted. Nygaard Nursery in Moorhead is going to be a place that’s welcoming, inspiring, and just plain fun.

Every plant here is a gift from my memories of my grandpa planting and tending his gardens, the most wonderful human in the history of the world. He brought joy everywhere he went, and I hope to carry a little of that with me into everything we grow.

Thanks for being patient with us as we make this leap. We can’t wait to welcome you to our spot in Moorhead soon. 💚

Plant, soil, soul. We make promises to plants.

It’s bittersweet to even type this one, friends. 💚

Thursday, Friday & Saturday we’re holding a MOVING SALE 50% off ALL annuals, perennials, and shrubs while supplies last!

This community opened its arms and welcomed us in from day one, and we will never forget it. So many good memories made here — from our “not-so-haunted house” event to the day my dream literally came true and we had LLAMAS visiting in the hoop houses. (Still can’t believe that happened.)

Thank you, Dilworth. Truly. You gave a brand-new little nursery a home, and that means everything.

Come see us this Thursday–Saturday, grab some incredible deals, and help us send this chapter off right. Our best is just the beginning. 🌱

Nygaard Nursery is on the move. This summer we’re packing up our Dilworth location and heading to Moorhead. Relentless forward progress.
In the meantime, we’re still here growing wonderful plants for all you good folks. Spring is finally showing up, and we’re betting our tomato trees will find a happy place in your soil.
Thank you truly for every kind word, every offer to help us move, and all the encouragement as we plan this leap. We’ve got big, big dreams for what we’re bringing to Moorhead over the next several years, and we think you’re going to love what’s coming.
More to share soon. Later gators!!

The business that put down roots in Dilworth in 2024 is looking to open a new a location in north Moorhead this fall.

Big news from Nygaard Nursery! 🌱
It has been such a joy seeing all of you this spring, and we are loving getting the right plant in the right place for every one of you. I’m a powerful dreamer, and every year we get better — better at caring for our plants, and better at caring for the people who take them home. “Our best is just the beginning.” “Plant, soil, soul.” “We make promises to plants.” These are the phrases we try to live by.
This spring, my wife and I had the chance to purchase a piece of land on Hwy 75 in North Moorhead — a forever home for Nygaard Nursery, and a place we hope to grow into a destination for years to come.
For now, we are still in Dilworth and absolutely stocked with plants, so come see us! And this fall, we hope you’ll join us as we open the doors to our forever home in North Moorhead. 💚

🌱 We’re back! 🌱
Nygaard Nursery is opening for the season TOMORROW at 9:00 AM and we cannot wait to see all your faces again.
Hours this season:
Monday–Friday: 9–7
Saturday & Sunday: 9–5
We’ve got a few tricks up our sleeves and some fun things in store at the nursery this year. I may or may not have tracked down some popcorn plants AND those sensitive plants you all love (you know, the ones that always disappear the second they hit the shelves 👀).
Come see us! Later, gators 🐊

🌿 IT’S OFFICIAL! WE OPEN MAY 1ST! 🌿
Today I’m wrangling these gorgeous trees into place. Tomorrow? My hardy shrubs roll in. Thursday brings the perennial shipment, and folks… we are BURSTING at the seams over here.
But like I always tell my smoking hot wife — there’s always room for one more plant. 🌱😉
Mark your calendars, Dilworth. Friday we throw the doors open and you’re gonna want to be here early. The good stuff goes fast.

Couldn’t sit still after Yard and Garden Palooza today. 🌱
Talking trees with all of you had me so wound up I drove back to the nursery and started grafting apricot varieties before I even took my hoody off.
It’s like when I was a kid watching a music performance— ten minutes in and I had to be at my own drum dreaming away.
Thanks for an incredible day. More apricot updates coming soon. 🌳
