THE HILL I WILL DIE ON.

Everyone forgets about STORAGE when building or buying a house.

Yet EVERYONE HAS STUFF.

SO. MUCH. STUFF.

In fact, we get calls regularly from people who need us to BUILD more places to put it.

And the sentence we hear most?

“I know. I really need to go through all of this and get rid of stuff.”

WHY?

Why is getting rid of the things you love the first solution?

Your china.
Your clothes.
Your shoes.
Your food.
Your holiday decorations.
Your keepsakes.
Your LIFE.

We spend hundreds of thousands, sometimes MILLIONS, designing beautiful homes.

We obsess over floor plans.
Open concepts.
Natural light.
Kitchen islands.
The FLOW of a space.

But somehow forget to ask one very important question.

WHERE IS ALL YOUR S**T GOING TO GO?

Because people don’t move into houses empty-handed.

They bring an entire LIFE with them.

And that life deserves more than a wire shelf and a prayer.

I’m not suggesting everyone needs more stuff.

I’m suggesting we should design homes for the people who actually LIVE in them.

Storage shouldn’t be an afterthought.

It should be part of the FIRST conversation.

Architects.
Interior designers.
Builders.
Homeowners.

We need to make storage as big of a deal as we do.

Because a beautiful home that doesn’t work for your life isn’t great design.

Not pretending.

Just genuinely loving the life you’ve built.

I love my life.

Not every minute.

Not every freaking Tuesday.

And most importantly, I love who I am IN my life.

I don’t need everything to be perfect to appreciate how freaking GOOD it is.
