We have a new shop pet... another lizard!! 🥳😍🦎

Just like Albo (the other lizard that arrived to the shop about 2 years ago) this one was a hitch hiker and came all the way from Florida in a case of plants too 😮

When I arrived to the shop yesterday morning, I spotted him sunbathing on the floor by the front windows. I quickly jumped into action and caught the little guy! 🤣 Of course I had to make him a fully planted enclosure so he feels perfectly at home here in Illinois 🥰

Many of you love to try and find Albo when you come into the shop. He's a good hider and camouflages pretty well, but this new one will be even more of a challenge! He is super super tiny, only about an inch long, and he hides really well 🙈

I made this lizard his own separate enclosure instead of putting it in with Albo, because it's just so tiny. Maybe once he grows a bit larger, him and Albo can be friends and live together 🥰

Any suggestions on what to name this lil guy?? Let me know! 😊

Lithops are here! Also known as Butt Plants for obvious reasons 🍑🤣🤣

Some people prefer to take the mature route and call these Living Stones... BUTT I call them BUTT PLANTS! 😂

The 4" pots pictured have an assortment of different cheeks and they are $22. We also have 2.5" pots with just a single set of cheeks for only $5 😊

Sometimes Lithops do produce a flower! When that happens it emerges right out of the split and then dies off and looks kind of disturbing as seen in the third picture 😅😂

🌿🍑 C A R E T I P S 🍑🌿

🌞 These are a desert plant and need LOTS of light. These REQUIRE a minimum of 4 hours direct bright light daily, or supplementation with grow lights

💧 These are extremely drought tolerant and require minimal watering. If the TOPS of the lithops concave inward and get wrinkly you should water them. If the tops are flared or rounded, then don't water. New Lithops will emerge from the split and the outer leaves will transfer their moisture to the new leaves emerging. This usually happens in the winter. Do not water if they are actively splitting. In summer they are usually dormant and will require less watering. In the fall they may flower and require a bit more frequent watering
