Over the past 1 -2 years we have been asked if we carry Pawpaw trees. We have carried them in the past, but unfortunately, we have had a lot of trouble finding them over the past 2 years to bring on to the nursery. Luckily we added a new supplier this year and they had Pawpaws available. Pawpaws are officially back at Eastern Shore Nurseries! They are currently in 3gal and priced at $45 retail.

Pawpaws (Asimina Triloba) are a small, deciduous tree that is Native to North America and has the largest edible fruit of native fruiting trees. They typically grow 15- 30 feet tall and are often an understory tree or large bush. The Pawpaw we have were grown from seedlings and at least 2 need to be planted for fruit. The Pawpaw fruit has a sweet, custard like flesh that can be eaten raw or baked into other desserts or food. Pawpaw trees are very important for pollinators, especially the Zebra Swallowtail Butterfly as the Pawpaw tree functions as the exclusive host for their larvae stage.
