Omnes is featured in the September issue of Landscape Architecture Magazine! In “Growing Where You’re Planted,” journalist and critic Zach Mortice chronicles our origins and evolution as a design studio. We often describe Omnes as a national firm working regionally, and Zach’s story captures so clearly what that means. We’re incredibly excited to see the work given this kind of space in LAM and honored to share the issue with some practitioners we truly admire, including TOPOPHYLA LANDSCAPE DESIGN Design Demands Labor PLAYCE Studio Ltd. and this month’s “cover girl” Design Workshop!

Stay tuned for highlights from some of the projects featured in the story, and read the full piece now at https://landscapearchitecturemagazine.org/omnes !

Time is absolutely zooming by at Center Square Plaza in City of Allentown where three of four PennDOT streetscape re-alignments are nearly complete. The planter at the northeast plaza is awaiting a restored Ernest Shaw sculpture, painted a bright 🍅 color and coordinated by Civic Centered Projects. You can also spy the new home of Jefferson’s Sydney Kimmell Medical College across the street by STUDIOS Architecture where the glassy facade is taking form!

We celebrated the groundbreaking with the City back in June, under the new Ernesto Maranje “Flight and Floral” mural that ties the plaza concept together. This fall, the biggest lift will be accomplished by North Star CM: creating the space that unites the plaza and the monument. There will be plenty more construction updates to come this fall, and you can also see some of the plaza updates on City Center Group’s live construction cameras!

Laura and Sheila presented the Bushkill Creek Greenway Master Plan to a full house at last week’s D&L National Heritage Corridor Eastern Pennsylvania Greenways & Trails Summit, alongside our terrific collaborators Craig Beavers of Palmer Township, Megan Schmidt of AKRF, and Kate Ebel of Wildlands Conservancy.

The Bushkill Creek corridor has faced intense climate pressure for generations. Flooding, karst geology, quarrying, and invasive species have all reshaped this 5.1-mile, 114-acre stretch of land. Developed through extensive community engagement and multidisciplinary analysis, the Master Plan responds to these challenges with a long-term vision for a healthier, more resilient watershed that builds ecological resilience and supports ongoing community care for the trails and waterway.

We were delighted to talk about the future of the Bushkill and about how trails can function as climate infrastructure, pairing recreation and public access with strategies such as dam removal, riparian restoration, and ecological stewardship. Connected to a regional network of more than 1,500 miles of trails, the Greenway Plan demonstrates how open space can do more: strengthen ecosystems, respond to a changing climate, and deepen connections between people and the landscape.

Congratulations to City of Easton PA Official on the designation of Centre Square as a 2026 Great Public Space in Pennsylvania! Center Square (also known to locals as “the Circle”) is one of four Great Public Spaces recognized by the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Planning Association this year as a model for sustainability and engaging community space.

Centre Square continues to evolve as a vibrant civic space, shaped by the people, businesses, culture, and public life that have long defined the heart of Easton. Omnes is proud to be working with the City to improve the four quadrants around the Circle. The first phase of the project was completed in the spring, with trees, planters, and benches installed on the southwest corner outside of Crayola Experience Easton. The second phase on the southeast corner will include similar additions, with a circular bench, archway signage, lighting, and seating along Lehn’s Court. That phase will be installed after the completion of the Grand Square Hotel by Enjoy With Gusto Hospitality Group in spring 2027.

With rain threatening to put a damper on Saturday’s sunrise Sound Bath Karl Stirner Arts Trail with Blue Zones Project Lehigh Valley, we decided to move the session indoors to Omnes’ own studio at the Silk Mill, just steps off the Trail along the Bushkill Creek! We pulled a ‘Stepbrothers’ and cleared the main floor (so much room for activities!) to welcome a full house for the resonant session led by Loring (freedOM within ~Yoga w/ Loring & Traveling Yoga Roadshow) of The Valley Om | Yoga & Bodywork, followed by conversation and refreshments by Green Vida Co.™.

While this was the last “Activate Easton” summer pop-up, there’s still time to weigh in about parks experiences and programming at www.tinyurl.com/BZEaston

Last week we hosted our first-ever Sound Bath as part of the Activate Easton Plan with Blue Zones Project Lehigh Valley! Loring of The Valley Om | Yoga & Bodywork led participants in an immersive, meditative session of overlapping tones and resonances against the backdrop of Nevin Park’s historic fountain. The event included a discussion about the value of parks & nature in Easton over free refreshments and cold-pressed juices by Green Vida Co.™.

Missed last week’s session? Join us for another Sound Bath this Saturday morning at 8am on the Karl Stirner Arts Trail (Karl Stirner Arts Trail)! Spots are limited and RSVP is required. More information at www.tinyurl.com/NevinPark

Join us tonight for a presentation of the Bushkill Creek Greenway Master Plan to the Palmer Planning Commission! This meeting will mark the unveiling of plans and concepts for the linear corridor of parks and trails of the historic Bushkill Greenway.

Working with our collaborators at Wildlands Conservancy and AKRF, we’ve studied the Greenway in every season and heard from hundreds of residents & visitors about what they want to see for the future of recreation and resiliency along the Bushkill’s trails and waterways. Join us for a first look at the vision this evening at 7pm – more info: www.palmertwp.com/bushkill-creek-greenway.html
