A relative "newbie" to Mahjong. Started playing in February 2025 and quickly became obsessed with the game and all the beautiful tiles, mats, and merchandise available. Created this page to share any info regarding play, as well as tiles, mats, racks, tablecloths, and any other mahjong merch!

Well, I had planned to decide which set up I liked best for my beautiful new fourwindssocial Holiday on the Half Shell mat tonight, but I forgot that we had dinner plans! 🤦🏼‍♀️ So, I will be figuring it out in the morning! I did make this video earlier to show you MY process (I’m sure others do it differently!) when I’m trying to make a decide on a tablescape. For anyone who’s interested, here it is! And you get a much longer look at this gorgeous mat!

Tomorrow I will have a (or maybe more than 1??) full tablescape with it! Just in time for the actual drop!

You guys! I was soo excited, and honored, and—ok—proud, that I was chosen as an Ambassador for fourwindssocial !

As you can see, I am a big fan, and I have loved their mats since day 1. I love Courtney’s vision, her determination (you all remember the fork lift license, right?), and especially that she gives back. I’m so happy to be included in the next chapter of her FWS story.

Picking one mat, however—that was a challenge!! I like and want them all! But, I am an Eastern Shore (of Maryland) girl at heart, and the Holiday on Half Shell just struck me, and after considering for a few days, I decided to go with it. When it arrived and I opened the box, I knew I had picked the right one for me! It is full of warmth and beautiful details and has so many colors, which will work well with so many different tiles, racks and tablecloths!

As you already know, there are many beautiful mats in this next drop! You can’t go wrong with any of them. But over the next couple days I will show you how I styled Holiday on the Half Shell. Hope you like it too!

New mat, new tiles, new set up!

These tiles are a deep midnight blue, almost purple shade which is hard to capture in pictures or video. They have a deep w**e layer in the middle. They had some issues with the finish on the backs, so they are now being sold as “imperfect” and discounted by $75. The designs and artwork are art deco style and beautiful! If you’re not super bothered by a little scuffing, which you can only see in certain lighting, please check this set out.

The mat is new from Its A Mahjong Life, and like the first mats, it’s very pretty!

The racks I bought from the dings and dents sale at A Beautiful Line a year+ ago. They don’t carry this color anymore, but I’m sure you can get it from Bird & Bamboo with their plethora of colors to choose from!

Everything about this photo made my heart happy!! My 1,000 Follower Tablescape Giveaway made it across the country from Maryland all the way to California to its adorable new owner, Megan Kirk Hirschbein!! I believe these beautiful mahjong items were meant to live in Megan’s game room on her grandmother’s mahjong table. Her birthday was the week of the giveaway, her last name begins with H (so the Haus of Charleston logo on the back of the tiles is like a custom engraving!), and she mahj’d the first game played on them! How perfect is that??!
