A tall volume deserves a statement fixture, don’t you agree? The Church Chandelier by makes the perfect impact, adding a sculptural moment against the dramatic blackened steel fireplace backdrop.

This living room's built-in bar takes advantage of the grand ceiling height with an arched backdrop while providing a home for floating shelves and flanked with two artistic, yet modern decorative sconces.

Continuing the concrete material from this modern home’s front entry and mudroom, the material carries down the staircase before transitioning to warm wood flooring. Our studio loves to layer lighting, so recessed step lights are paired with adjustable surface-mounted fixtures overhead. They’re currently directed downward for general illumination but can also be angled to highlight the wall or future artwork coming to this space. Thoughtful details that blend function with flexibility!

This modern home entry and mudroom boasts a substantial yet floating concrete bench with a waterfall edge, contrasting beautifully against the warmth of the rift white oak cabinetry. A floor-to-ceiling cabinet provides generous concealed storage (including hanging space for coats!), while the drawers below keep shoes and everyday essentials tucked away. Open areas under the bench provide quick and easy access to everyday shoes. Dressed up with soft pillows, warm lighting, and a touch of greenery, this functional space proves that practical can still have plenty of personality.

A little look at the bathrooms and laundry room in our Lopez Island beachfront home.

Each space has its own personality while staying connected through warm neutrals, natural materials, and timeless details. From charming wallpaper and classic paneling to wood vanities, brass accents, and layered tile, every element balances traditional character with a relaxed coastal feel. Which bathroom is your favorite?

Even the laundry room gets a thoughtful design moment, with soft painted cabinetry, warm wood tones, and functional details that make everyday tasks feel a little more special.

Designed to feel elevated, welcoming, and right at home in the San Juan Islands.

For this Lopez Island beachfront home, even the hallway to the bedrooms was an opportunity to add character and charm starting with an arched opening. Soft, patterned wallpaper, delicate wall paneling, warm wood tones, and thoughtfully placed artwork and lighting create a welcoming transition from the main living spaces to the more private areas of the home.

In the bedrooms, we carried similar traditional details forward along with accent walls and custom built-in wardrobes that blend beauty with function. Our favorite design feature? Definitely the cozy window bench.

Each space feels warm, inviting, and thoughtfully layered, with its own personality while still feeling connected to the home’s overall design.

From concept to a vision for the heart of the home. 🤍

For this Lopez Island beachfront home, the front entry, kitchen, dining, and living spaces were designed to feel warm, welcoming, and connected to the incredible setting beyond the windows. We layered traditional details, natural wood, soft coastal tones, vintage-inspired elements, and plenty of texture to create a space that feels collected, timeless, and relaxed.

These early renderings helped bring the vision to life and allowed us and our client to see how all of the spaces would work together before construction began.

Designing an entire home from initial concept to finished space is a journey—and now we’re finally ready to start sharing how it all came together for this beautiful beachfront home on Lopez Island.

It has been about a year in the making and we’re kicking things off with some of the concept imagery we developed together with our client, capturing her love of traditional, charming interiors while also drawing inspiration from the natural beauty and character of the San Juan Islands.

It’s always so rewarding to look back at where a project started and see how those early ideas evolve into a finished home. We can’t wait to show you the journey!

And continuing with our mid-century Edmonds remodel, we’re excited to share the bathroom design!

This space pulls in similar finishes, colors, and design details from the kitchen we just shared. Even though the two spaces aren’t directly visible from one another, our studio believes in creating a cohesive design story throughout the home.

We can’t wait to see this lovely green shower tile come to life!

A little reworking of the floor plan can make a BIG difference.

For this mid-century modern inspired home, we started with the kitchen and adjoining dining area —removing an awkward hallway closet to open up valuable space for a more functional and efficient kitchen layout. Then, by reducing the oversized (but not quite walk-in!) entry closet to a standard reach-in depth, we gained just enough room to tuck in a recessed bar cabinet.

It’s all about making the most of the space you already have while keeping the home’s original character in mind and dressing it in pretty finishes to fit.

And this is just the beginning… stay tuned for the bathroom updates!
