The Effingham Farmers Market will open tomorrow morning 9/5/26 at 7:00am to beat the heat
We will be there with an abundance of okra and green beans we'll also have heirloom tomatoes and cherry tomatoes, garlic and peppers.

Howdy Flat Land fans.
It's HOT.
A lot of things in the garden don't like it this hot. Tomatoes don't set fruit, pole bean vines burn on the fence wire, cool weather crops struggle to grow properly, and I sweat like crazy trying to water plants that I tried to keep from drowning a few weeks ago.
Then there is okra. Okra is a tropical member of the hibiscus family and it loves the heat and it's growing and producing very well. I will have an abundant supply for Saturday's Farmers Market.
If anyone would like a larger quantity for canning or freezing please contact me and we'll see what we can do.
