At it again this week another crawl space . This house did have insulation in the crawl space. Here is the problem. The insulation was not installed correctly. It was sweeting so bad the guy thought he had a water leak. So what was happening is that who ever installed the insulation didn’t put a blocking band in the rim joist. So the the hot air was transferring through the rim joist and hitting the cold air that was transferring through the subfloor creating condensation. Do to all the moisture over time mold start growing on the subfloor, rim joist, seal plates. To correct the problem we had to removed all the old insulation . Then we came in and spray for mold. Put down a 12 mil reinforcement ground cover. Sprayed close cell foam on the rim joist and down the foundation walls and sealed up the crawl space. Now the crawl space is in good shape now. So if you ever have a minute check out your crawl space . You differently don’t want this getting out of hand. It can causes health problems and over time it will cause problems to the house. So I hope this information help yall out and know what to look for in there crawl space. Big insulation companies don’t mean you getting a professional. You can’t have quality with out experience. I done a house week ago. 20 year old house that had no insulation in the crawl space. This summer heat hitting the ductwork. Creating a lot of condensation and holding water on the ground cover, and the result was a lot of black mold that was occurring over the years. We had it sprayed for black mold . Put a new 12 mil ground cover down and sprayed close cell foam on the rim joists and foundation and sprayed around the pillars to stop the crawlspace from sweeting . Now the house can start holding the air conditioning and heat without escaping through the vents in the foundation.

Little addition to a lake house. It will be the most comfortable spot over looking the lake
